With President Donald Trump sending armed federal agents into communities around the country, even more once gun-shy liberals and leftists are considering getting armed.
Since Pretti was shot Mr. Trump and many top aides have blamed Mr. Pretti for carrying a firearm and ammunition during demonstrations against the immigration crackdown in Minneapolis.
The tragedy here isn’t just what happened. It’s how people in influence are talking about it and what the public is inferring from those misguided and inaccurate comments.

In sum, the claim that California’s gun laws “prioritize regulating who can access firearms,” as Newsom’s press release claimed, is an abhorrent lie.

As for the good director’s comment, in which he said no one who wants to be peaceful shows up armed, most everyone I know is always armed. And to a man, or woman, we are all extremely peaceful.
In the aftermath of the shooting, multiple Trump administration officials said peaceful protesters do not carry firearms with them.
