Yesterday, the shooter who committed suicide after killing two and wounding six more in a Christian school in Madison Wisconsin was identified by police as Natalie Lynn Rupnow. The 15-year-old, who went by the name of Sam, was reportedly obsessed with school shooters . . .
She had an extensive online obsession with school shooters and death, particularly the 1999 Columbine High School shooting. Rupnow was a big fan of the KMFDM rock band, which was also referenced by one of the Columbine shooters. (She often wore the shirt of the band.)
Like clockwork, as soon as word spread of a school shooting. a White House intern dusted off the usual Biden call for more gun control laws.
The only thing missing was another demand for an “assault weapons” ban, as the Madison killer inconveniently used a pistol yesterday. Aside from that, there’s nothing new at all here. Anti-gun advocacy operations, politicians and the media who support them regularly dial up the pro-gun control rhetoric after a high profile shooting. Never let a crisis go to waste and all that. Yadda, yadda, yadda.
These are the same people who reject out of hand the idea of hardening schools to make them more difficult to enter with a gun. They recoil in horror at suggestions of arming teachers and school administrators. They clutch their pearls and claim that adopting enhanced security would make schools feel like prisons.
Never mind that we do those things in government offices, court houses, airports, banks, jewelry stores, and more. Never mind the fact that schools all across the country have allowed teachers and administrators to carry firearms for years now. It’s probably no coincidence that no shooting has ever taken place in a school where staff are allowed to protect students with firearms.
What’s also important, however, is to look back and note the times the dogs didn’t bark. Few shootings were as high profile as the attempted assassination of President Trump in Pennsylvania in July. Then there was a second failed attempt on his life in September. And less than two weeks ago, the CEO of one of America’s largest corporations was gunned down in cold blood on the streets of New York.
You know what didn’t happen after those high profile incidents of “gun violence?” No one in the White House issued any calls for gun control. The President (or whoever is acting in that role these days) didn’t call for “Congress to act. Now,” or warn against accepting senseless violence.
It seems that some high profile shootings are less politically useful than others. It seems that some victims warrant more political outrage than others.
A privileged psychopath kills a prominent CEO and a large portion of the population cheers him and lights candles in his name…while the President eats another pudding cup and takes another nap in Delaware. But when a different psychopath shoots up a school, outrage is expressed and the calls for more gun control from all of the usual suspects immediately go up.
It’s almost as if the anger and the outrage are entirely dependent on who’s doing the shooting and who’s being targeted.
“It’s almost as if the anger and the outrage are entirely dependent on who’s doing the shooting and who’s being targeted.”
Yep, that sums it up quite accurately.
It took over a decade, but people are finally done with the BLM. I think that will translate to other identities. Dems pushed too far. Most normal people are done with insane identity politics.
I look forward to the real backlash coming from all the drones who bought into this nonsense and got meme degrees, surgically or chemically sterilized and disfigured themselves, abandoned friendships and relationships, blew through whatever financial means they may have had, accrued obscene debts, or acquired criminal records while giving their all to such an empty idol only to enrich and empower a handful of psychopaths who used and abused. It’ll come and I hope it’ll be epic.
It’s one thing to be a stupid kid and make stupid mistakes but the past 10 years has been filled with all sorts of permanently life-damaging shenanigans that amounted to no net gain for tens if not hundreds of thousands of participants.
Epically depressing will be the likely outcome for most as despair claims them. There may be a few that go the Luegi route but most will either turn their destruction inward or against those that tried to help them.
“…but the past 10 years has been filled with all sorts of permanently life-damaging shenanigans that amounted to no net gain for tens if not hundreds of thousands of participants.”
Yeah, I have a cousin who’s daughter ‘transitioned’, and I fear what will happen to her once the ‘novelty’ evaporates, and she’s left a mutilated, sterile freak.
I hope they go hard on those that those that mutilated them, but fear they will just pack up and be the demanding Leftist Scum ™ they usually are, demanding special treatments and considerations from the rest us us non-freaks… 🙁
Remember how hard we went on the ones that pushed opioid pill mills. That would be optimistic.
Hey Dan. The first X link in your post has already been removed.
Yeah, X is removing them. I posted one earlier today in the other article with parts of her manifesto and they removed that link too.
So is this another white athiest anti-civil rights white le.sb’i@n???
Who hates christian children.
Yes yet another commie.
Ok, a correction. The killer did her heinous act in in the second-floor study hall, not the first-floor library as originally reported.
