Red state governors are not the ones setting local law enforcement priorities, budgets and policies, and the murder rate in each state is “largely a function of the large number of murders in a state’s biggest city or cities.”
Unless Adamiak’s conviction is overturned, the case gives the ATF an incredible amount of power—at a time when even the President of the United States wonders publicly whether they should continue to exist.

I don’t blame anyone for an evil person’s actions except the perp alone. But I demand they apply the same logic to gun owners and stop trying to strip all law-abiding people of their rights because of the actions of criminals like this. You can’t have it both ways.
Houston police — the real ones — are investigating a lethal home defense shooting that took place late Friday night in the southeast part of the city. Two men knocked on a homeowner’s door claiming they were police officers and were there to serve a warrant.
Unfortunately for Adamiak, the ATF knows that the items that became evidence at his trial were not illegal, but since the prosecutors used them successfully, they will likely also be used as evidence during his appeal.
