Get it Right! How to Draw Your Gun From a Holster [VIDEO]

Drawing your concealed carry pistol from its holster with control, speed, and consistency is as important as it gets. After all, you can’t put rounds on target if you don’t have a gun in your hands pointed at the target.

Over the years I’ve been trained on this many times by many excellent, credible, and experienced instructors who all train drawing and presenting a firearm in slightly different ways. In the video above I show it how I do it.

Can ya do this without showing us your underwear?

    🤣

Why do you guys torture yourself this way with the gun against your bare skin? Use a rash guard.

    1. LOL. I tried not to show my underwear by doing it with my shirt tucked in, but then I gave up on that since lifting the shirt is obviously such an important part of the process. When I carry like that I generally have the top of my undies high enough that they’re in-between me and every part of the gun+holster. I’ve purchased specific boxer briefs (not seen in the video, actually) that work very nicely for that very purpose. In cooler weather I’ll wear a tucked-in shirt under whatever’s on top. But this is Texas and it isn’t frequently cooler. I’d rather not have any additional layer on that isn’t absolutely mandatory; not an undershirt, not a rash guard, not nothin’. Frankly, I’ve taken to pocket carrying a Bodyguard 2.0 most of the time (it’s in my front right pocket in the video) and don’t often have a gun on my belt a whole lot anymore…usually it’s a weather thing where I have a sweatshirt or jacket or whatever and either carry OWB under the cover garment or carry appendix but have my t-shirt tucked in under the gun and a sweater or whatever over it.
