After adding AR platform rifles to their product line at SHOT last year, Hi-Point is upping their gun game even more this year with a new line of affordable suppressors called Hush-Point. The new silencer family is launched with a pair of models, the Hush-Point 22 and the Hush-Point 9/45. It might surprise you to hear this, but I find this one of the greatest new products of SHOT Show thus far.

First up is the Hi-Point Hush-Point 9/45. As its name suggests, it’s listed as being compatible with 9mm to 45 ACP. The body is made from 7075 aluminum as are the muzzle cap and monolithic monocore baffle. That means the core is a single machined piece, which makes it easier to clean and maintain. The host cap is 17-4 stainless. This is not a full-auto rated suppressor, but that’s not how most people use their cans. Interestingly, it appears to be covered under Hi-Point’s no questions asked warranty.

Second is the rimfire model, which is a smart choice for a new suppressor line. Rimfires are more affordable, lots of fun, and likely to sell. The Hush-Point 22 is 6.19-inches in length and weighs only 4.9 ounces, making it a great size for the average rimfire rifle. Hi-Point lists its compatibility as 22 LR, 22 Short, 22 WMR, 17 MACH 2, 17 HMR, and 17 WSM, covering the most popular rimfire calibers.

Like the 9/45, the 22 version has a 7075 aluminum body, muzzle cap, and monocore. That’s not uncommon for a rimfire-focused suppressors because it cuts costs and keeps weight down. Again, the host cap is 17-4 stainless. Once again, this suppressor seems to be covered by the manufacturer’s lifetime, no questions asked warranty.

Both suppressors have a black finish.

MSRP for the Hush-Point 9/45 is $439. The Hush-Point 22 is $259.

  1. If I’m spending $439 dollars on a centerfire can, I want, at a *minimum*, stainless steel construction. I just don’t trust aluminum for those pressures.

And coming from bottom-of-line Hi-Point, anything over $199.99 is a hard no for an aluminum rimfire can. More like $150, or lower…

  2. Good.
Technology, modern manufacturing and new materials, are being used. To make low cost Arms and accessories for poor citizens.

The 2A is not just for rich people.

I understand the “gun community” thinks a firearm under $700 is not reliable.

Native tribes, in different parts of the world. Defeated white european soldiers with just the bow and arrow. Until the natives were overwhelmed. I look forward to poor folks armed with Hi Points Charter Arms and Keltec weapons.

  3. Got a BATF Form 1 suppressor question for anybody other than forty-cal –

I still see lots of ‘Fuel-filters’ being sold from China for about 10-15 bucks. Real handy for making a can.

Recently, news was being reported these were being seized at US customs. if I file form 1, and get it granted, will they allow me to pick it up?
