Horse…Barn Door: Center For American Progress Thinks Permitless Carry is Too Much for Americans to Handle

The push for permitless carry and the subsequent removal of permit requirements in state law is not only harmful to public safety efforts; it is also rooted in misinformation. Permitting standards are in place to ensure that those carrying a concealed weapon in public have been properly trained and pose no risk to themselves or others. Yet when states allow for permitless carry, those safeguards disappear, allowing anyone to carry a weapon in public regardless of their ability to handle a firearm safely and lawfully. The evidence is clear: Guns in public spaces pose a danger to public safety and increase the risk of violent confrontation.

  1. They trust people with automobiles 24/7 which is a privilege.
Butt, trusting American citizens with a gun is too much for this bunch.

  2. There’s no need to bother reading anything from these pro-open border morons unless you want to understand what they’re thinking. It’s all very predictable at this point.

  3. “An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life.”

  4. Oh no, can’t have all Americans having freedom like over half the country already has with only positive effects. What about the criminals who have been carrying without permits regardless of what the laws demand?

  5. “Permitting standards are in place to ensure that those carrying a concealed weapon in public have been properly trained and pose no risk to themselves or others.”

Another fine example of the ‘Magical Thinking’ that infects the Leftist Scum ™ brain, falsely leading it to believe a fantasy utopia is ‘just around the corner’, when in reality, it will never be, thanks to the stark reality of (in)human nature…

BREAKING NEWS: HUGE 2A UPSET ON GUN FREE ZONES MAY BE INCOMING.

The Supreme Court Argument That Pulls No Punches.

… a matter pending for the Supreme Court, Wolford v. Lopez. Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, examines an amicus brief filed by the National Association for Gun Rights which really takes the 9th Circuit and many other jurisidictions hellbent on civilian disarmament, to task throwing haymaker after haymaker in this very informative and entertaining brief.

Report: Health Centers That Care For Women Outnumber Planned Parenthood By 15 To 1.

“From 2021 to 2022, abortions, not screenings, made up approximately 97 percent of Planned Parenthood’s ‘pregnancy resolution services.’

Planned Parenthood, the biggest abortion provider in the nation, wants Congress, its donors, and its allies in the corporate media to believe that its existence is necessary to deliver health care to women in need. A new analysis from the Charlotte Lozier Institute, however, found that community health-care centers with resources devoted to women’s health instead of prioritizing abortion outnumber Planned Parenthood locations 15 to one.

…… Planned Parenthood, which has a long history of allegedly flouting federal law and wasting tax dollars, dispensing castrating drugs to confused minors, … trafficking baby body parts, … enabling abusers, … performing unlicensed procedures, violating health and safety standards, opposing free speech, and conducting procedures that have resulted in mothers’ deaths, only has 579 ‘in-person and virtual’ locations. Some of those facilities are on the brink of closure after exposures of their ‘botched care,’ outdated equipment, and poor training.

  10. Question, Dan…

How is it that .40 Booger is able to freely post multiple times in a row, with fully clickable links and plenty of words, yet others here see their comments regularly blocked, held for mod for hours, or such when we try even a single post? How may one go about being whitelisted as .40 apparently has been?

(Since my past several attempts to post under my classic username have been blocked, I’ll use a slightly varied one to see if it will get past the goblins…)

(EDIT…this is my first attempt to post anything since a couple of days ago, yet SNW just told me I was “attempting to post too many comments”. What the heck is going on??)

I wish I could tell you. I haven’t put anyone in moderation jail, holding all of their comments for approval. Yet some — Miner49er for one — seems to always pend for approval. We have some key words that hold comments up and comments with two or more links hold for approval (lots of spammers try to flood the site with more). It was the same way at TTAG. WordPress just seems to have its own mind and some built-in defaults that we can’t control.

I just simply post. Plenty of my posts go to moderation, some never show up. Also, plenty of my posts do the thing where you click ‘Post Comment’ but the post never shows. As far a links I just copy and paste them into the post, used to be I would need to modify them by separating the ‘h’ from the ‘https’ to get them to post but they would not be clickable but that stopped happening for me and others too. I wasn’t aware of any ‘whitelisting’ happening, I just simply post and if it doesn’t go to moderation or fall prey to the ‘ ‘Post Comment’ but the post never shows’ thing – then the post shows.

Sometimes I have to modify a post to exclude certain words or modify the words to get the post to avoid moderation, to get it to post.

also, you notice my posts with links are separate posts. That’s because it will not let me post multiple links in a single post.

    5. It occasionally tells me I’m posting too fast or too many (for the first comment!) when I’m clearly not. I just paste it back to the comment box and wait awhile. I’ve gotten to where I almost always copy the comment before I try to post it, or I type it on wordpad and copy it over.

“It occasionally tells me I’m posting too fast …”

sometimes I get that, I just hit the back link and erase the last letter on my email, then type it again and it posts.

Edit: This is now the second attempt to post this. Let’s see if it takes this time…

  11. Calling Ms. Jordan’s research garbage would be an insult to garbage. Virtually all her sources have strong negative biases on permitless carry and anything else favorable to gun owners. Assertions are made in a vacuum, completely without context and she ignores data clearly indicating constitutional carry is at worst neutral.
