Officials with the Birmingham Police Department want Alabama’s gun laws to be strengthened, particularly state laws surrounding conversion devices.
“We need this immediately,” said Officer Truman Fitzgerald. “Many of our homicide cases where we’ve been able to look into evidence, we’ve seen facts that lead us to believe that the shooter, or shooters, had some sort or glock switch or machine gun conversion device.”
Some devices, like glock switches, can convert semi-automatic guns to fully automatic weapons.
While federal law bans the devices, Fitzgerald added they limit local law enforcement.
“The federal charges have some elements in those statutes that makes it difficult for us to build cases,” Fitzgerald said. “A state law, we hope, would have a little bit more easier language when it comes to fulfilling the elements needed to obtain a warrant.”

Perhaps Fitzgerald should take an English reading comprehension course.
Hush,
Cause if the law was more easier to understand, the thugs would have figured out that what they was doin was illegal and they wouldn’t have doed it.
Wait….so banning the already banned giggle switches will reduce violent crime?
