It will be 17 years next month since a bloodthirsty jihadi in an Army major’s uniform opened fire in a medical waiting room at Fort Hood in Texas and murdered 14 people, including the unborn baby of a pregnant soldier. It was the deadliest terrorist attack on US soil since September 11 at the time.
Despite survivors’ descriptions of him shouting Allahu Akbar as he gunned down his victims and investigators subsequently uncovered evidence that Hasan was connected to Al Qaeda, the Obama Pentagon labeled the mass shooting a case of “workplace violence” rather than terrorism.
Hasan — who laughably acted as his own attorney — was tried and found guilty in 2013 and sentenced to death. Why he’s been allowed to continue to eat and breathe for the last 13 years isn’t clear, but that travesty is about to be put right.
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has requested permission and President Trump has approved the execution of the useless oxygen thief who’s been allowed to take up space at taxpayer expense for the last 17 years.
And unlike the recent botched execution of a death row inmate in Tennessee, the method chosen for ending Hasan’s miserable existence is sure to be much more effective.
The Defense Department’s chief spokesperson, Sean Parnell, said death by firing squad for Nidal Hasan was recommended by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and approved by President Donald Trump.
It would mark the first time the U.S. military has executed someone using the method since World War II.
The last US service member to be put to death was hanged in 1961 for rape and attempted murder.
The date and time for the execution haven’t yet been set. Whenever that is, we don’t imagine the Army will have any difficulty finding volunteers for duty on Hasan’s firing squad.
Government agents kill the innocent and the guilty all the time. They are called police officers.
And until very recently they were never prosecuted. And if they shoot the wrong person they just get fired. If that.
I support the death penalty.
So if your intellectually honest you should support disarming the police. No firearms for them. Issue them nightsticks and the training to use them.
This way the government would be far less likely to kill someone.
