Arizona AG Suggests State’s Self-Defense Laws Will Protect #Resistance Types Who Fire on ICE Agents

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes

Holy smokes, folks—hold onto your hats because Arizona’s Attorney General Kris Mayes just dropped a rhetorical hand grenade that’s getting attention nationwide. The Grand Canyon State’s AG actually suggested that it’s somehow legal and lawful to shoot masked ICE agents. Because stand your ground.

She couches her words carefully, but the message is unmistakable to America’s rabid, TDS-infused left: “the law” will protect you in Arizona if you shoot a federal agent.

It’s like she’s handing out legal permission slips for the OK Corral 2.0—but starring ICE instead of the Clantons. “Combustible situation?” Lady, that’s putting it mildly—this is straight-up tinderbox territory.

Mayes may be an AG, but she’s not your personal criminal defense attorney. And when push comes to shove, that “Don’t Tread on Me” vibe the militant left is so fond of right now won’t stop a federal badge from doing its job. Thirty-seven-year-old Alex Pretti learned the hard way that politicians love to enflame and cheer on the “resistance” from the sidelines as they throw themselves in front of ICE. Then the feds show up and the script flips from a game to deadly serious in a heartbeat.

To state the obvious, pulling your gun on the feds (or driving at one) is a felony-stupid idea that will get you shot graveyard dead.

Even the New York Post is covering Mayes’ unhinged analysis of the law:

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes wildly suggested that residents could open fire on masked ICE agents if they feel their life is in danger under the state’s self-defense laws.

The Democrat, in a sit-down with 12 News anchor Brahm Resnik, warned that Arizona’s “Stand Your Ground” law, which allows citizens to use deadly force if they believe they’re in imminent danger, could become a “recipe for disaster” if protesters clash with immigration officers.

“It’s kind of a recipe for disaster because you have these masked federal officers with very little identification, sometimes no identification, wearing plain clothes and masks,” Mayes said in the Monday interview, calling ICE “very poorly trained.”

Did she get the “poorly trained” memo from Gov. Jazz Hands?

“And we have a Stand Your Ground law that says that if you reasonably believe that your life is in danger and you’re in your house or your car or on your property, that you can defend yourself with lethal force.”

A flabbergasted Resnik repeatedly challenged Mayes, cautioning that her remarks could be interpreted as a “license” to residents to shoot a federal agent.

She retorted that she was merely stating a “fact,” not encouraging violence.

Right-o. Merely stating a fact.

“If you’re being attacked by someone who is not identified as a peace officer — how do you know?” the state’s top prosecutor pressed, adding that “real cops don’t wear masks.”

Real cops don’t wear masks? How about real cops who don’t want to be doxxed by violent, unstable leftists?

“I mean if somebody comes at me wearing a mask, by the way, I’m a gun owner, and I can’t tell whether they’re a police officer, what am I supposed to do? No, I’m not suggesting people pull out their guns, but this is a ‘Don’t Tread On Me’ state.”

She’s not suggesting people pull out their guns, of course. “But this is a ‘Don’t Tread on Me’ state.” Here’s a pro tip: don’t take legal (not to mention self-defense) advice from elected officials. Of either party. Obstructing federal officers is always a bad idea. Doing it while armed is far, far worse.

Pro-illegal immigration politicians are doing their best to gin up resistance to federal efforts to enforce the laws that are currently on the books. If a few people like Renee Good and Alex Pretti take things too far and wind up dead as a result, that’s a shame, but in their cynical calculation, it helps them politically.

Despicable words from an utterly despicable woman.

  1. Well, now that the Arizona AG has endorsed use of and explained “Stand Your Ground” with ‘wink wink’- now conservative people in Arizona are in the clear to defend their selves against these rabid left wingers ANY WHERE IN THEIR VICINITY because you don’t know who they are and you ‘feel’ like or ‘believe’ you are in danger from them – just sayin’, so load up the magazines because there are a lot of those rabid left wingers that want you to ‘feel’ like or ‘believe’ you are in danger from them and, after seeing them proclaim how much they hate anyone conservative and want conservatives dead, you actually can ‘feel’ and ‘believe’ they are a danger to you.

  4. Government offers help to NY for freezing temps and winter storm – there have already been deaths from the freezing temps in NY. Hochul turns down the help ’cause TDS and ICE.

    Governor Kathy Hochul
    @GovKathyHochul
    ‘Secretary Noem offered assistance to New York ahead of the impending snowstorm.

    I shared that the fastest way to help is for ICE to back off so people feel safe accessing warming centers, shelters, hospitals, and houses of worship.’

    Turning down federal assistance in a deadly blizzard because you hate Trump and ICE

    @jasonrantz
    People have already died because of the storm. And Hochul is bragging she turned down help because she doesn’t support deporting rapists and murderers.

    Has Trump Derangement Syndrome broken Kathy Hochul? Yes, it has. And unfortunately, it sounds like the people in her state are paying the price for it… in more ways than one.

    [note: Pontius Pilate washed his hands to symbolically declare his innocence regarding the condemnation of Jesus, stating that the responsibility for Jesus’ death lay with the crowd. This act is described in Matthew 27:24, where he says, “I am innocent of this man’s blood; see to it yourselves.” – yet, it was the act of Pontius Pilate, and his responsibility and duty, his refusal to act to save the innocent Jesus, knowing the charges were false and ‘politically’ motivated, his act and within his power to save the life of Jesus – yet, his own form of TDS then, his excuse, JDS (Jewish Derangement Syndrome) was his excuse to ‘wash his hands of the matter’. Now, all this was known that it was to happen – that Jesus had to die on the cross, to be the lamb of sacrifice foretold in the old testament. Now Hochul is doing the same thing, ‘washing her hands’ of the suffering and death of citizens she had/has a responsibility to protect because of her TDS excuse – this too was foretold but instead by the democrats with ‘resist Trump’, remember this New Yorker’s because these democrat and Marx*ist Socia* lists politicians, no matter if you voted for them or not, are always willing to let you suffer or die for their cause.]

  5. “real cops don’t wear masks.”

    So now the criteria for ‘stand your ground’ in Arizona is that anyone who wears a mask is a threat you can shoot? I guess Halloween this year is gonna be really challenging for these left wing loons. Or maybe the left wing loons can shoot each other, ’cause I’m seeing a lot of them wear masks.
