Announced this week at SHOT Show 2025 is a lineup of DMLS 3D-printed Hush Kit silencers from Dillon Aero. Unlike their infamous Minigun, their suppressors are available to the consumer/civilian market via the Dillon Rifle Company brand. And they’re quite interesting!
This oversized plastic model demonstrates what Dillon calls their PIP technology, or Purposely Induced Porosity. In some or all (depending on the model) of the logo features, the suppressor is extremely finely porous, kind of like pumice or a sea sponge.
This is designed to vent pressure and a small amount of gas without being porous enough to ‘vent’ sound. Very interesting!
In this 50 BMG can, I believe all of the logos are porous. It’s super cool looking. I watched a slow-motion video at the Dillon booth where you could see how it clearly vents pressure while at the same time it doesn’t kick up much dust.
The Minigun-styled muzzle end of the Hush Kit line is porous, too. Dillon advertises reduced backpressure and gas blowback as a feature of these suppressors.
Even some or all of the baffles feature porosity to improve gas flow and reduce pressure, a much more high-tech solution than drilling holes in the baffles.
The whole Hush Kit line features HUB size mounts.
I’m pretty excited to get my hands on these things to see how the PIP features work in practice. We’ll keep y’all updated. More info here: https://dillonriflecompany.com/suppressors/
PTR‘s VENT line also touts “innovative Purposely Induced Porosity™” with similar foamy porous titanium inside.
Is Dillon licensing it from PTR, or is PTR licensing it from Dillon, or are they both white-labeling cans from the same manufacturer?
PTR does own the trademark. Not sure who does the manufacturing. There are A LOT of contract DMLS manufacturers now.

The patent is assigned to Centre Firearms Co Inc which is about training and logistics, not manufacturing.
titanium foam wafers and sponges…lots of fun and ease building suppressors with those.
