Past year I have been shooting in public land. It has been fine but can be a pain to get to.
I was just accepted to a private shooting range. Very nice facility outdoors. Rifle range out to 440yds, skeet and trap fields, pistol bays with various silhouettes (some with lights for shooting after sundown).
An NRA membership is required. I know in the past they have been politically right leaning but as of recent has spoken up for 2nd amendment rights for the trans community.
At a bit of a moral crossroads and not sure what to do.

My local range has the same requirement. It’s a way to encourage gun owners to participate in gun rights legislation, something that you as a gun owner should also do.
Gun Rights groups encourage ALL non criminal people to be gun owners, including liberals such as yourself.
And is NRA right leaning? Why yes because the left as a whole Is full on anti-gun in purpose and action.
So welcome to the club and support your right to bear arms.
Since you are a gun owner and a shooter, it’s unlikely that any one at the range cares anything at all about your sexual preferences, and the NRA is about guns, shooting, gun rights, and 2A issues. NRA is politically right of center, but only because the political left is openly anti-gun-rights right now. It hasn’t always been so, and you are evidence of that. The NRA has never, in my knowledge, ever issued a statement pro or con regarding the sexual opinions or preferences of NRA membership. Just come shoot with us, and enjoy your 2A with us, who share your love of shooting. At the range we are all shooters regardless of any other opinions.
There is no moral issue here. The NRA EXISTS to protect your 2nd Amendment right. Have there been issues in the organization the last? Yes, no question. The member have acted to clean it up and solve the problems. Your voice is needed as well. Join, you won’t regret it.
We still have second amendment rights in spite of your “moral” issue and I’m sure your voting record in large part because of the NRA

Second Amendment Rights are for all Americans. Although we have a strong disagreement with the admission of “rights” based on personal “feelings”, the human beings Rights are nonetheless guaranteed. We dont have to accept their sexual preferences or intentions.
