WOOX has announced the Elegante Hybrid, a new bolt-action rifle stock built from a single piece of hand-selected Claro American walnut paired with an internal aerospace-grade aluminum mini-chassis. The company, which produces gunstocks, axes, and knives through a combination of Italian and American manufacturing, unveiled the stock on July 7, 2026, from its Hickory, NC headquarters.
According to WOOX, the Elegante Hybrid was designed for hunters who want the feel and carry of a traditional bolt-action stock without giving up the consistency associated with chassis systems. The stock is shaped and machined in Italy, then hand-finished at WOOX’s facility in Hickory.
WOOX USA CEO Ben Fleming described the project’s origins in a statement:
“The Elegante Series began as a true passion project for our entire team. WOOX has always been known for blending the timeless character of wood with the strength, performance, and modern refinement of metal and aluminum. With the Elegante Series, our goal was to create something that felt classic and nostalgic in appearance, while incorporating modern design elements that enhance repeatability, consistency, and precision.”
At 35 ounces, the Elegante Hybrid weighs less than a traditional wood stock, according to WOOX. The stock uses an integrated aluminum mini-chassis and an internal weight system that allows the balance of the rifle to be adjusted via internal weights that are sold separately. Otherwise, the Elegante includes a vertical grip, flat-bottom forend, negative comb, integrated thumb rest, an M-LOK slot at the 6 o’clock position on the forend, a ventilated recoil pad, and an adjustable length of pull via optional spacers.
The stock is offered in two grades of American walnut, standard and high-grade, each hand-selected for grain and character. Because the material is natural wood, WOOX notes that no two pieces will have identical patterns.
The Elegante Hybrid is currently available for the Remington 700 SA/LA and LA, Ruger 10/22, and Ruger American Gen2 platforms. Standard American walnut is priced at $549.00, and high-grade walnut is priced at $879.00, according to WOOX’s press release. The Elegante line is intended for sport shooters, hunters, and shooters building or upgrading a rifle for long-term use, and the design is meant to differentiate itself from chassis-stock products that place a chassis system inside synthetic or mass-produced wood furniture rather than a hand-selected natural stock. I certainly think it adds a little bit of class to what would otherwise be another metal chassis system.
