Rossi’s Brawler Pistol in 300BLK Can Be the Basis of a Hell of a Great Deer Gun [VIDEO]

As we head into hunting season, not many people are thinking about taking a single-shot break-action pistol into the woods in search of that 10-point buck. That’s a shame, because the Rossi Brawler is a hell of a lot of fun and — chambered in 300 Blackout — all that a lot of people need to fill the freezer.

In addition to 300BLK, Rossi also chambers the Brawler in 5.56 and .45 Colt/.410, so you can pick the Brawler that works best for what you’ll be aiming at. Not only is this thing just tons o’ fun to shoot, it’s supremely affordable — about $250 retail — and can be the basis for an incredibly small, very packable and plenty effective deer gun.

As Jeremy said in the video, he shaved a quarter inch or so off the front of the handguard to get his AB Raptor with its reflex mount to fit over the barrel. That makes for a wonderfully compact little package. He’s also ordered a Picatinny adapter from FarrowTech that will let him attach a folding brace to the pistol and, well, you’ll see the result in a future post.

  1. We’ve taken plenty of deer with a 10 inch T/C Contender, so yes why not? The difference in cost will get you some nice glass plus ammo for it.
