I’m a firearm instructor and RSO both for the NRA and military. The three day waiting period is whatever for me. I dont need instant satisfaction. I have walked into two suicide scenes in my life and one was with a gun he purchased within two days. It may save a few people in crisis.
I don’t like that you can get one here with zero training, nevermind carry with zero training in the state. I was almost shot a few times by dudes trying to quick draw a glock or trying to clear a misfire. Uneducated is the most dangerous, in my opinion.
These are my opinions.

All these “instructors” for gun control remind me of the Office Space meme: “What is it you’d say you do here?”
Like a federal employee striving to maintain the bureaucracy that employs you because without it you’d be a useless sack of wet meat.
Having one of those oh-so-specialized NRA instructor cards myself it’s an absolute insult and affront to all that is righteous and just that states can demand prospective firearm owners sit with me for 8 hours as we read through the 5 rules.
Wait you only have to do 8? Slacker.
“I’m a firearm instructor and RSO both for the NRA and military.”
Those titles do not make your right or your opinion any more valuable.
Question: What do you say to the survivors of a person who was killed during the waiting period?
I followed the Reddit link, and found this :
“3 Day Waiting Period Court Injunction by [deleted] in Maine”
He thought he could hide by deleting it, how cute! 😉
Guess he couldn’t handle the heat…
*Snicker*
I just rubbed his nose in it on another thread in Reddit, told him he can’t hide…
And not only is that poster a Fudd, he’s also an ex-Marine according to his profile. Traitorous scum, but what did I expect from a fucking Redditor. The most devoted socialist-worshippers on the Internet.
I’m a journalism instructor and retired reporter who worked in PR for the Navy. The three day waiting period for posting on social media is whatever for me. I don’t need instant satisfaction. I’ve walked into two suicides where the deceased was bullied online within hours of harming themselves. It may save a few people in crisis.
I don’t like that you can get a smartphone here with zero training, never mind carry with zero training in the state. I was almost trolled a few times by dudes trying to quick draw an iPhone or trying to clear a meme. Uneducated is the most dangerous, in my opinion.
These are my opinions.
Wasn’t sure where you were headed at first but we’ll trolled.
Thanks – it’s tough to parody these knuckleheads, what they spout is so nonsensical it’s sounds like something from The Babylon Bee or, back when they were funny, The Onion.
Like that supposed Brit who used to post on TTAG, what he wrote was so bad it wasn’t worth ridiculing – his idiocy was self-evident!
The very same apprehension easily applies to all manner of things–power tools, axes, machetes, archery equipment, compressed air containers, chemicals, swimming pools, electrical appliances, etc.
We don’t require training nor licensing to engage with any of those items. Why are firearms different?
Emotional people are not logical enough to realize some of those tools and chemicals could be used to kill them with far less effort. Also some get paid by people who realize lots of people with guns are difficult to control.
Reddit is a fake website. A multi-billion dollar organization was caught spamming and manipulating the site with a bunch of sock puppets, and corporate’s response was to shut down any mention of the activity. It’s safe to say EVERYTHING on it is astroturf.
Occasionally some niche topics have well reasoned and detailed explanations but ultimately yes it is even more social engineering than Facebook.
