Eliminating the $200 tax on suppressors & short-barrels has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO with turning semiautomatic firearms into machineguns.
We need mental acuity tests in the Senate for folks like @SenJackReed. pic.twitter.com/F4QSsXN7AM

…$1.7 billion for gun makers who will be able to sell silencers, sawed-off shotguns, and short barrel rifles, and other very dangerous weapons and components tax-free, making our streets more dangerous for police and for the American people. And indeed, especially for the police because they’re the first-responders. They’re the ones that are typically going to the door wondering if the person behind that door has an automatic weapon or some other weapon designed not to hunt or shoot, but to kill.
— Rhode Island Senator Jack Reed
Engineered for killing, but not for hunting. Can someone explain that?
The 2nd amendment is for a well regulated militia to protect against an oppressive government and self defense and this right “shall” not be infringed – in legal terms that word “shall” is set in concrete and cannot be changed )as in 10 commandments) – hunting is a side benefit most of us enjoy from having this great constitutional right. The rules of “fair chase” in hunting prohibits the use of fully auto guns for hunting purposes only

Logic and reason and sanity is not a thing for them – there ya go, explained.
Enabled by hordes of double-digit IQ voters and bankrolled by business interest looking for favorable outcomes.
The majesty of democracy in action.
Bonus points for suddenly caring about cops.
The littlest state in the Union has politicians with the littlest intelligence. See Governor Dan McKee and Sheldon Whitehouse for prime examples.

While ignoring that Biden admin and democrats and left wingers in the Biden admin spent $2.8 Billion to buy the same things to arm government agencies ‘weaponized against the American people’ both literately and politically, and they used those same weapons and weaponized-agencies to terrorize, murder, threaten American citizens, and put violent dangerous criminals back on the streets and welcomed violent illegal aliens to illegally enter our country to murder and rape. The Biden admin bought them tax-free too – the American tax payer was not so lucky though and had to pay the taxes to support all that.
Yeah, the democrats always want a disarmed populace unable to protect its self.
I don’t like making generalizations, but politicians like this make it too easy. Idiots, the lot of them, and yet they still get voted in time after time.
It’s about control, the laws are just the means they have to use for it to be “acceptable”.
It would seem that what most elected federal officials need is a basic primer on… everything.
The rant…these are already ‘on the street’ in the hands of responsible law abiding citizens and have made the ‘streets’ zero ‘dangerous’. AND…these are not tax free, these people still pay state and federal exsize tax rolled into the price of this stuff.
The NFA tax was not taxing anything but the constitutional right, and even SCOTUS says its obvious its nothing but a tax on the exercise of the 2A.
Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas said that the 2nd amendment has been relegated to a second class right and is not being upheld by the courts to the same standards as our other constitutional rights. I agree and this has to stop! Why is congress more converned with moving a space shuttle than securing our 2nd amendmment rights? Our constitutional rights should be first and foremost in all their devision making processes.
A D being dumb isn’t new or useful. Cover the dereliction of duty by the President of the Senate.
