Question for legal experts: When armed teachers are *employees* of a school system who are granted permission to have guns inside their workplace by their employer, are their actions covered by the same laws as armed civilians in public spaces?

Yesterday, the Tennessee House passed a teacher carry bill and sent it to the Governor Bill Lee for his signature. The reaction by the Civilian Disarmament Industrial Complex has been nothing if not predictable. As these bills progress, they’re going to be reruns of what we saw during the expansion carry laws, I guess.
Every time a state passed shall-issue or constitutional carry, anti-gunners made dire predictions of doom. When those predictions didn’t come to pass, they quietly moved on without ever acknowledging they were wrong.
But each time another state wanted to do the same thing, they acted like it was completely unprecedented and the sky was once again falling. This is classic gaslighting. So too in Tennessee.
For all the outrage about “armed teachers” in the Volunteer State (actually just allowing teachers to carry if they want to and get permission to do so), this isn’t unprecedented. Many states across the country allow teachers to be armed to varying degrees, and there has yet to be a single example of one shooting a student.
Even if such a crazy outlier did ever happen, it would still have to be weighed against the deterrence value teacher carry provides against would-be school shooters. And it should be noted that no school shooting has even been attempted at a school that allows teachers and other school employees to carry firearms.

I predict the SCotUS will really give them something to cry about in a few months… 😉
From that ABC news link:
Gun violence is the leading killer of children in the United States – so far, 436 children under 18 have been killed in gun violence this year, according to data from the Gun Violence Archive.
They don’t bother to fact check it if they agree with the narrative.
