Osight continues to build out their SE line of enclosed red (and green) dot sights. Whether you like red or green, multi-reticle or larger MOA dot only, Osight gives you affordable options. The latest addition to the line is larger with more viewing area and a different mount option.

The new Osight SE DPP gives you a 40% larger viewing area and a DPP — DeltaPoint Pro — mount.

Like the other SE models the SE DPP has an aluminum housing and a fully enclosed design to keep water and dirt off of the emitter. It has an IPX7 rating and we dunked this one like we have the others. It stayed dry on the inside.

The SE DPP runs on a widely available CR1620 battery with a battery life rated at 75,000 hours. That’s 8.5 years, folks, and I’d hope you’d routinely swap out your battery more often than that. But if not, the reticle will begin to flash as a warning. And the battery is side-loading so you don’t have to dismount the SE DPP (and then re-zero it) to load a fresh one.

The SE DPP is physically larger than the earlier SE models. Where the smaller models are 1.59x.97x.98 inches, the SE DPP is 1.83×1.12×1.11 inches, giving you that larger viewing area. The SE DPP will be right at home mounted on a compact of full-size pistol.

You also have your choice of three aiming options: a 2 MOA red dot, a 32 MOA circle or both at the same time.

Like the other SE models, brightness on the SE DPP is easily adjusted via two rubber buttons on the left side of the unit. There are ten brightness levels, two of which are night vision compatible. And yes, the highest two settings are bright enough to be seen in the bright Texas mid-day sun.

Why the DPP mount? Because lots of pistols out there take it. Yes, RMR and RMSc are the most popular mount patterns, but pistols from FN, GLOCK, Springfield, SIG and Walther, among others, use the DPP mount.
Like the rest of Osight’s SE line, the SE DPP stood up to our testing and will give most shooters the performance they need at a price they can afford. No, it’s not as bomb-proof as models from makers like Trijicon, Aimpoint or Steiner, but the SE optics cost about a third of the sights from those makers.
