We see a lot of new products at every SHOT Show and we meet a lot of people. One question almost every one of them asks is, “So, have you seen anything really cool?” That list is always small, but one of those that definitely makes the cut this year is Pelican’s new Reset customizable case organizing system.
You’ve no doubt seen Magpul’s DAKA Grid system which we’ve liked since it was first introduced. Pelican’s Reset system is a different take on how to customize the interior of your rifle case for your particular gear.

The Reset system is deceptively simple. It’s just a field of high density foam pegs that are set into a plastic frame that holds them in place.

All you have to do to customize the layout for your gear is to push the pegs down in the shape of your rifle, pistol. magazine, suppressor…whatever it is you want to tote.
The Reset system will initially be available for Pelican’s model 1700 (Gen2), 1720, and 1750 cases. More will follow over time.
Lincoln Logs for guns.
They trying to compete with the MagPul DAKA Universal GRID Organizer ‘minecraft blocks’ cases?
Yes. Mentioned that above.
Yes, but I mean seriously compete … its basically the same thing in functionality for fitting ‘shapes’ in concept and doesn’t offer anything different in that respect.
I prefer molded case inserts myself, but I create my own for specific guns anyway so its all moot for me.
Seems like this might be more space-efficient. What strikes me with the DAKA blocks are just how big the blocks are. I’m sure Pelican did their testing but I wonder how well these plugs stay in place and how stable they are.
Ugly. Hard pass.
I tested this insert and it is a game changer compared to the Magpul system. Very rigid and easily rest for different applications. Nora is an awesome human being….see you next year.
