Darwin loves it when feloniously stupid thugs do feloniously stupid things…like trying to rob people who are walking out of a gun range. With guns on them. That’s right up there with juggling chainsaws or hand grenades with the pins pulled, but that’s what happened in Texas.
A trio of rocket surgeons apparently wanted to audition as the Three Stooges of Crime, watching for a guy to leave a gun store and live-fire range in Houston. They actually laid in wait outside a gun range looking for someone to rob. In Texas. Where “howdy” might as well as mean, “I’m packing, you packing too?”
What could possibly go wrong?
The unsuspecting good guy—fresh off of honing his marksmanship skills — maybe even practicing some precision headshots for fun — hopped in his ride, maybe oblivious (or maybe not) to the idiot mobile that was tailing him.
Less than a mile down the road, the Stooges decided to execute their incredibly well-thought-out plan as the good guy parked his ride. Because robbing people who you know have guns at 4 p.m. in broad daylight is a surefire formula for success.
The Stooges made their approach, threatened the good guy and grabbed his bag full of guns like it was Black Friday. The bandits were so giddy looking into the bag at their score that they failed to notice that our good guy drew one of two guns he had on his person…you know, the loaded one. He then shot the primary perp right in the mouth, doing lots of damage to the robber’s pearly white smile.
Houston PD rolled up and found the clown bleeding and spitting teeth. He’s miraculously expected to survive. They cuffed him and took him away for medical care so he’ll have plenty of time to reflect on his craptastic life choices. Hopefully the hospital will experience a shortage of painkillers.
Did his two accomplices stick around to render aid to their fallen comrade? El oh el. No. They ran like roaches when the light’s switched on. They even forgot about their getaway ride they were so eager to flee the area and the man with the gun.
These little escapades are what the cops are calling “gun jugging” … staking out gun stores and ranges and robbing customers.
Houston police are investigating a shootout that left one suspect injured after an attempted jugging near a gun range in southwest Houston.
Houston Police Department officials called the incident an attempted “gun jugging.”
According to HPD, officers were called to the 5300 block of Rampart in the South Gessner area after reports of a shooting.
Investigators say a man had just left a nearby gun range and was driving home when he was followed by three suspects.
Word seems to have gone out among the young urban scholar community that targeting freshly practiced armed Texans is a winning proposition. Good luck with that.

We had a problem with that around here at one point in the past. Gang thugs from across the state line would stake out gun stores and ranges in our area. Their actions forced members of the local gun community to administer a ballistic-solution to the problem, they found out why hard targets are not good target selections for them and the problem went away after 5 of them went away for ever.
It was kinda a long learning curve for them. First it was 1 thug, tried to rob a lady leaving a gun store, she shot him, he lived. Not to be deterred, the next time it was two of them at the same gun store a week later and their victim shot both of them, the thugs lived. Then almost two months later it was three of them, tried to rob a guy leaving a range, forced him off the road, he shot two of them and the third ran, one thug died. A week after that four of them attacked a couple (husband and wife) in the parking lot of a gun range as they were arriving, the four thugs were shot by the couple and two thugs died. Then there was the five, they attacked a lady leaving a gun store with a new rifle, as she was getting in the car they forced her to the ground and she rolled over and shot all five thugs and all five died, three on scene, two within a day of each other in the hospital. After that five they didn’t try it again. The ones that did not die were convicted and sent to prison.
