Mom Shoots Convicted Child Molester Off Her Daughter

Imagine walking into your hotel room to see a sketchy looking adult male tearing the clothes off your 12-year-old daughter in an attempt to rape her. Especially if you noticed a gun laying near Mr. Creepy. What would you do?

Enter Bruce Pierce. After a pair of child sex convictions in 2016, he had since rejoined society. As a registered sex offender Mr. Pierce was supposed to behave. However, Pierce just couldn’t help himself. Cops say he tried forcing himself on a 12-year-old girl in a hotel room when he had a moment alone with her. Fortunately, as he tore her tank top off, mom returned and saw the criminal act in progress.

She shot Pierce, repeatedly, sending a clear and unambiguous message; ‘Leave my daughter alone!‘ It’s interesting how commands have much greater urgency for recipients when they’re accompanied by hot lead projectiles.

We’re not sure why mom allowed a convicted child molester anywhere near her daughter, but at least this saga had a happy ending. He came away from the attack with some body piercings and time in an intensive care unit at a hospital.  Here’s to hoping they restricted his pain management to an aspirin a day.

Pierce will soon face more music courtesy of the Indiana Department of Corrections. Given the bevy of charges, he shouldn’t plan on having any time alone with any more pre-teen girls any time soon.

WFLA covered the story:

A mother shot a convicted child molester multiple times inside an Indianapolis hotel room after allegedly walking in on him attempting to rape her 12-year-old daughter.

Bruce Pierce of Indianapolis was critically injured in the shooting, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department…

Pierce is charged with attempted rape, a Level 1 felony; attempted child molestation, a Level 1 felony; unlawful possession of a firearm, a Level 4 felony; and confinement, a Level 5 felony…

According to the court documents, the mother temporarily left the 12-year-old girl alone in the hotel room with Pierce while she carried some bags out to a vehicle. The mother returned to find Pierce on top of the 12-year-old girl, in the process of tearing her clothes off.

Pierce allegedly had a gun on him or near him during the alleged sexual assault, according to the witnesses. The victim told police he pinned her arms to the bed and ripped off her tank top.

The victim’s mother shouted at Pierce after spotting him on top of her daughter, pulling out her own gun and opening fire. Pierce was struck by the gunfire, and the mother and daughter fled the hotel.

Another news outlet WTHR had more on how Pierce ended up alone with the girl.

Court records show Pierce pleaded guilty to child molesting in two separate cases, in Hendricks and Morgan counties, in 2016.

The grandmother told police the victim and her sister woke her up May 24 when their mother didn’t come home. They went to the Baymont Inn to look for her and found the mother with Pierce in the lobby of the hotel. The 12-year-old girl stayed in Pierce’s hotel room while the mother and other daughter took items to the car.

The mother told police she returned to the room and heard her daughter saying, “No, no, no,” and saw Pierce on top of the girl, whose shirt had been ripped. She told investigators she then shot at Pierce, who also had a gun in his hand at the time.

The 12-year-old told police she had stayed in Pierce’s room when the others had left because she felt sick. While they were at the car, the girl said Pierce invited her to sit on the bed. At that time, court documents say she told police Pierce grabbed her arms, pinned them to the bed and began ripping her clothes off. She said he ripped her tank top and underwear before her mother came into the room, but said he did not touch her anywhere else.

The girl said she got away from Pierce when her mother began shooting. They ran from the hotel and drove away in the grandmother’s car, before calling police…

Plenty to learn from here, folks. Don’t allow sketchy folks near your children, alone or otherwise. Don’t allow anyone who hasn’t earned your total and complete trust anywhere near your pre-teen kids, even if they’re a former President of the United States.

Also, carry your gun everywhere. Thank heavens mom had her that day at that moment. Although using the sex offender registry as a dating pool is something most of us won’t do, protecting yourself and your family is your responsibility. You need to have the tools with which to do that.

  1. This whole story is full of bad decisions but hey, at least another rapist is sitting in jail with some new holes in his body. Shame he survived though.
