Texans love their guns. Intimidating and bullying good guy (and gal) Texans with a gun is risky business. It’s actually more like outside the realm of rational thought. After all, Texas ain’t Illinois, California or Massachusetts!
A Ft. Worth homeowner walked into his place on Misty Glenn Court on Saturday afternoon expecting peace, quiet, and maybe a cold one. Instead he found Darius Levy, who’d already collected a protective order from another resident of the house, standing in the living room like he owned the place.
Mr. Homeowner no doubt told the ne’er-do-well to leave. Mr. Levy, never one to let a court order interrupt his criminal résumé, decided violence was the smarter play. They tangled hard and the guns came out.

Mr. Homeowner’s presentation won the day, with a better, more effective application of ballistic therapy. Levy the loser still managed to punch at least one hole in the good guy before his own red juice ran out until nappy time set in. Soon enough, he checked out for good on the carpet.
Police later confirmed the obvious: the dead man had an active protective order barring him from the very address he’d chosen to invade. Paper and ink meant nothing to a genius who thought “restraining order” was just a polite suggestion. Then again, a restraining order doesn’t enforce itself. Armed self-defense proved harder to ignore.
In the end the only real puzzle is why Levy bothered with the whole production. A man that dedicated to violating every boundary in sight could have saved everyone a lot of grief and checked out on his own.
Instead, in a selfish fit of anger, he chose the long, loud, stupid route and left the planet the hard way.
