A man armed with a handgun exchanged gunfire with the suspect during Saturday’s deadly shooting at an In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, Idaho, forcing the gunman to take cover, according to an eyewitness cited in multiple reports.
Lane Koehn told The Associated Press he saw a man carrying an AR-style rifle emerge near the drive-thru on Saturday afternoon before another man pulled a pistol and fired at the gunman.
Koehn said the man with the pistol then stayed to help an injured In-N-Out employee until paramedics arrived.
Nothing to see here. Just another (as yet unidentified) good guy with a (suppressed) gun putting himself in danger to challenge an active killer.
The shooter killed two and wounded seven. He’s dead, reportedly after committing suicide. But as in all of these situations, there’s too much chaos, misinformation and outright bullshit being spread around in the immediate aftermath.
The facts of what really happened — the shooter’s identity, his probable motivation, the citizen’s name and how much he contributed to slowing or stopping the carnage — will come out in time.

Was he open carrying or was it concealed carry??? You don’t need to carry on your pants. A shoulder holster allows for more room. As I’ve said before. I have a system for carrying a take down long gun. Concealed.
Or a ruger charger takedown pistol, has a 10 inch long barrel. It’s very easy to conceal. And with a 25 round magazine I think it would do very, well in stopping a mass shooter. In 22LR no less.
I bet they were at least 30 yards a part from each other. Are you training out to that distance???

His name is Austin ‘AJ’ Scott James. But the details get a little mixed on this guy. Salinas in interview says the killer-terrorist-enemy Williams was taking fire from two people – Salinas and James. Contrary to some social media posts Salinas was not hit, there was a point where he tripped and some people mistook that for him getting hit. But, Austin ‘AJ’ Scott James it turns out was hit.
But there is some confusion as to the actions of James as to firing on the killer. According to the GiveSendGo page set up for him, this…

James didn’t draw his firearm when he approached according to his GiveSendGo page. So after being hit did he draw and start firing then or as the killer is retreating? I guess we will need to wait until he tells us what he did as far as firing on the killer, or is there a missing part in the GiveSendGo page and he did in fact draw and fire as he came upon the killer, or if Salinas was mistaken about the second person firing on the killer.
Anyway, both of them, Salinas and James are heroes – going towards-engaging the danger to face it without regard for their own lives to protect others and that is a hero. Their actions saved lives.
