Remember, there’s nothing big city mayors can really do about crime. Arresting criminals, they say, isn’t the solution. They tell us so all the time. At least, they can’t do anything without violating dearly held “progressive” attitudes about equity and the inherent biases of our criminal justice system. And then there are the problematic police. In the opinion of great minds like Chicago’s Brandon Johnson, the totality of the law enforcement system in America is actually a sickness that needs to be eradicated.
Meanwhile, in the real world on Chicago’s west side, women with children have to defend themselves against attacks by serial recidivist predators that the system refuses to remove have free rein. Early Saturday morning, a 33-year-old man with an impressively long criminal record — even for Chicago — tried to kick in the door of a home where a woman and her children were living while screaming threats. The woman dialed 911, but also had the presence of mind to call a relative.
That unidentified relative, who reports describe as a 28-year-old with a concealed carry permit, got there before the police did.
The man allegedly continued trying to get into the apartment, breaking a bedroom window and threatening to kill the family inside, sources told WGN-TV. The 28-year-old relative, who has a valid CCL, fired toward the man, hitting him multiple times.
The career criminal, who remains unidentified for some reason, was transported to a local hospital where he finally ceased being an ongoing threat to the good people of Chicago when he stopped breathing. For good.
According to arrest records, the 33-year-old has been arrested 64 times in Chicago since 2009 and has 11 convictions stemming from those cases. Close to two dozen of those arrests were for domestic battery and violation of an order of protection.
Court and arrests records confirm the man has been convicted in multiple domestic violence cases, along with other cases involving aggravated battery on a peace officer, and criminal trespass.
At least one of those prior incidents occurred at the same address, resulting in charges of domestic battery and criminal damage to property.
It offends the delicate progressive sensibilities of people like Mayor Johnson to think that arresting, prosecuting and jailing predatory scumbags like this now-dead attacker. So they don’t. Meanwhile, an increasing number of the rest of us take measures to protect ourselves and our families, knowing that relying on the authorities to do what it takes to promote law, order, safety and domestic tranquility has, in many places, become a relic of the past.
Act accordingly.

I am genuinely curious as to the root cause of such nasty, violent behavior. Lead paint chips? Fluoride in the water supply? Childhood (or even adulthood for that matter) malnutrition?

“… 64x in Chicago since 2009… ”
#65 – This time, somebody told him “NO” with a little more emphasis.
Unidentified?
Maybe another one of Pritzkers violence interrupters or street liaisons or whatever he’s currently calling his criminal grift operation.
He called a them ‘peace keepers’.
Evidently he has a sense of twisted demented humor.
I just love a story with a happy ending
