The Californication of Colorado’s Gun Laws Continues Apace

A state law in effect as of July 1 layers on new education and training burdens for obtaining and renewing permits for the carrying of a concealed handgun in Colorado, this despite data suggesting permit holders are already an exceptionally responsible and law-abiding group.

House Bill 24-1174 passed along party lines in the Democrat-controlled legislature last year, and among other things significantly expands classroom training requirements to obtain a concealed handgun permit (CHP), to include a live-fire exercise and a written exam, with instructors “verified” by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

The bill additionally requires a “refresher” class for the renewal of a permit, which includes the exam and live-fire mandates. Nowhere does the bill cite evidence of any issues arising from previous requirements, nor of CHP holders as committing acts of gun violence.

This is on top of the fingerprint-based background check already long required by law.

  1. I live in Ft Collins. Concealed carrier. I protect my church.

Caesar oppressed the Christians. The Republic(k) of Polistan oppresses Christians. Nothing is new under the sun.

My church (little-c) qualifies its security team with the Colorado Peace Officer’s Shooting Test, with church-appropriate additions from the FBI qualifications. Every nine months.

While I don’t mind the additional expense and time (I’m retired and have all the time from here to eternity), there are others not-so-blessed.

The government cannot tax a civil right. The CO democrat legislature (bless their hearts), true to their Jim Crow roots, have imposed a burden similar to the poll tax.

Please pray for the oppressed good (red) people of Colorado. We are oppressed by the urban majority, just like under Caesar.

First off, I will include you in church’s prayer list, down here in Florida.

My church is so small our security team that I am a part of is purely ad-ac, and our ministerial team has *zero* problem with it. I genuinely far for gun rights as a whole where you live. The rot has taken root and I doubt a change in political leadership will ever change, as your area is seen as a refuge from California.

All I can suggest is, consider moving, it can, and has, ever since COVID, IT has had a real impact in how the electoral vote college is calculated, and the results will be applied at the 2030 election. Red states will steal about 14 electoral votes (maybe a few more in 5 years) from the hard blue ones. That’s gonna make it a LOT harder for them to hold federal offices in the future. That will make HUGE advantages in appointing judges, but it make take 2 decades to become apparent…

White ho0 m0sez uals are just as ra.cist and intolerant as any other subgroup. They are a plague on society. And have destroyed a once great city. San Francisco. And they destroyed a once great state. California.

And they voted for this anti-civil rights gay leadership.

Don’t Want to Cooperate with ICE? OK, How About the ATF?

“While we see many very blue states passing laws which prohibit local law enforcement’s participation in immigration and deporation efforts, we have to wonder, would they show the same reluctance with assisting ATF if they were running through their state confiscating guns? Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, discusses that very issue and the laws that many states have already passed that will protect its citizens from a runaway Federal government. And all of this stems from well established Supreme Court case law.”

Left wing criminality and violence and criminal deadly force application continues: Rioters Charged With Assaulting Officers During Violent Antifa Protests Outside Portland ICE Office.

“On Tuesday three anti-ICE protesters were charged with assaulting an officer along with other offenses during ongoing protests outside of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in Portland, Oregon. A fourth individual was charged for … ‘defacing the ICE building’ with graffiti.

Riley Freeman (26 years old) faces charges of ‘felony offenses of assaulting a federal officer with a deadly or dangerous weapon and possession of an unregistered destructive device.’ Andrew Marcum (22) and Ian Joseph McCarthy (35) were also charged with a felony for ‘assaulting a federal officer.’ The fourth protester, Jeremy Hummel (27), was charged with a misdemeanor for ‘depredation of government property.’

Even her two liberal cohorts, Sotomayor and Kagan, thinks shes nuts with her opinions lately. Barrett really climbed all over her and tore her a new one in addressing one of her dissents.

and that name ‘Ketanji’, it doesn’t actually mean anything and does not have the roots she thinks it does.

Her full name is ‘Ketanji Onyika Brown Jackson’. ‘Jackson’ is her married name, her birth name as named by her parents (Johnny and Ellery Brown) is ‘Ketanji Onyika Brown’. She says ‘Ketanji Onyika’ is an ‘African name’ which means ‘lovely one’ and was based upon a suggestion from her aunt who was a Peace Corps worker stationed in West Africa.

‘Ketanji Onyika’ … its been claimed to be Luba-Kasai, also known as Cilubà or Tshilubà or simply Luba but more commonly called Tshilubà. Its a tonal Bantu language of Central Africa and a national language of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (along with along such languages as Lingala, Swahili, and Kikongo). But its not Luba-Kasai. There are some Luba-Kasai translators on line which will tell you ‘Ketanji Onyika’ means ‘lovely one’, but that translation use by those has only appeared since Jackson became a SCOTUS Justice, and no human linguistics professional or professor for ‘African’ area languages has been able to find a translation for it in any ‘African’ area language.

The telling thing is the separation of the words – two words ‘Ketanji Onyika’ with the two words ‘lovely one’ (according to Brown). In the Luba-Kasai language two separate words together can form a ‘term’ or ‘phrase’, either a one word or two word ‘term’ or ‘phrase’ (e.g. ‘lovely one’) where the separate words them selves don’t as Brown claims (i.e. she states ‘Ketanji’ means ‘Lovely’ and with ‘Onyika’ it means ‘lovely one’), but the separate words them selves will have a meaning in the Luba-Kasai language and not one not related to modify the other into phrase or term as she claims. There are no meanings for the separate words ‘Ketanji Onyika’ in the Luba-Kasai language or in any of the other ‘national’ language of the the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Another clue is that Browns claim is that ‘Ketanji Onyika’ is ‘African’. There is no ‘African’ language as a separate language called ‘African’, yet she claims ‘Ketanji Onyika’ is ‘African’.

There is a match with the Igbo language in Nigeria with ‘Onyika’, but here again a problem with ‘Ketanji’ as they don’t have a ‘Ketanji’ word that exists or modify’s for a complete phrase or term either one of two word.

Supposedly, according to Jackson, her aunt sent a book of ‘African baby names’ and suggested the name from that book of ‘Ketanji Onyika’. But one little problem with that is ‘Ketanji’, the ‘ji’ at the end is not common to ‘African’ area baby names or ‘African’ area names, or in Nigeria Igbo, the ‘ji’ is more common to India names.

Its likely that ‘Ketanji Onyika’ does not actually mean ‘lovely one’. The closest match for ‘Ketanji’ is ‘Seller of clothes’ and its from India but there is also a combination of Indian (Sanskrit) and ‘African’ area (some dialects) combined to form a word ‘Ketanji’ as a reference to the mineral ‘gold’ as in ‘real’ or ‘genuine’ or ‘pure’ gold. In the Hindu religion ‘Ketanji’ is a unisex sort of ‘fill in the blank meaning’ name, for ‘things’ and has different meanings normally associated with it such as “home”, “pure gold” and “dwelling” but not as a persons name

Ketanji, I hate to break it to you but the ‘lovely one’ is most likely contrived.

The most likely is that ‘Ketanji Onyika’ is ‘contrived’ and is actually of American origin and means ‘Activist’.

NYT had a brain fart and writes something thats the truth, and its readers are really PO’d about it: NYT Forced To Explain To Angry Readers Why It Published Something Truthful But Damaging To Democrats.

“Despite their pledge ‘to give the news impartially,’ the NYT continues to serve as the Democrats’ propaganda arm.

The New York Times has become such an arm of Democrat propaganda that the paper faced reader backlash after running a piece that reflected poorly on socialist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani. The backlash was enough that the paper felt the need to explain to its readers why it…” [screwed up and] “…did a little bit of …” [actual] “… journalism…” [finally] …”…”

  5. …this despite data suggesting permit holders are already an exceptionally responsible and law-abiding group.

Data has nothing to do with it. Since when do Democrat voters check the data? They’re “doing something.” That’s all that matters to emotional Democrat voters. Then there’s the sect that gets off on sticking it to their political enemies. This is a win-win situation for Dem pols in blue states.

How many Democrats have demanded data showing how every dollar spent on “green energy” initiatives will affect the climate? The answer is zero. If they checked into it, they would realize that the trillions spent will have no impact on the climate. It only makes a select few politically connected individuals extremely wealthy. It also increases energy costs and puts the country further in debt. This is another example of how much the “pro-healthcare” Democrats are a joke. How many cancer treatments could have been paid for with the amount of money procured for”green energy” subsidies by the Puppet administration? Democrat politicians and their cronies are laughing all the way to the bank.

Yes, We’ve Seen This Type of Antifa Ambush Attack on ICE Before, and You’ll Never Guess Where.

“As long-time readers know, attacks on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) offices aren’t new, especially in the Pacific Northwest, the heart of Antifastan. If it’s not the near-nightly attacks on the ICE office in Portland, it’s gathering at the regional ICE detention center in Tacoma, Wash., to bray and distract ICE agents. And it’s in Tacoma, in 2019, where we see a model for the ambush that occurred on July 4 in Texas.
