HK’s Announces Their New CC9 American-Made Micro Compact Pistol

HK CC9 9mm pistol

Well, one of the very last entrants into the higher capacity micro compact 9mm carry gun game is…Heckler & Koch. HK has announced the new CC9 today, it’s first American-designed and American-made pistol intended for the American consumer market.

The CC9 has 10+1 (flush) or 12+1 capacity and it’s optic ready (RMSc). It’s fully ambidextrous, has a tritium front night sight, and ships with two interchangeable backstraps.

HK says it’s taken them so long to bring the CC9 to market because they’ve put the pistol through such extensive testing to make sure it’s good to go from the get-go. Much like the SIG P365 platform, the CC9 is a modular design. That means its central fire control group is the “legal” gun and you can swap out grip modules if and when HK (or other makers) offers them. That probably means the CC9 will be the basis for an expanded platform of guns in a range of sizes and capacities.

The CC9 certainly seems like another worthy competitor in what’s probably the hottest-selling handgun segment. The only question is, with guns from makers like SIG SAUER, FN, Smith & Wesson, GLOCK and many more years ahead of them to market…is the CC9 too late?
