Anti-Gun Jurisdictions Mandate Expensive Psych Evaluations as a Barrier to Exercising Full 2A Rights

Exceedingly few people are denied a carry permit because of failing the psych exam. The real reason they exist in the antigun counties is two-fold:

1. The real test is whether you complain about the exam. If you just go along to get along, you’ll pass. Some people refuse to take it on principle, which I get. But these anti-gun counties don’t care. If they discourage you from getting a CCW permit because of it, then all the better as far as they’re concerned. Working as intended.

2. It’s another expense filter. It adds around $400 to $500 to the price in most places (except in La Verne, which pays for it itself because we sued them). That helps price people out of the right to carry and dissuades many from even applying. Again, working as intended.

Even if the psych exam were constitutional–and it is not–the police departments choosing to require them should have to pay for it themselves. The vast majority of California issuing authorities don’t choose to require a psych exam, and it has been fine. Just as it’s fine in the rest of the country, where there are no psych exams for carry permits and yet people with such permits almost never commit crimes.

When a government agency picks up the tab for something, that means that the taxpayers are picking up the tab, which is just a bad idea. But, this is CA, the land of fruits and nuts, and where bad ideas seem to be born.

  2. Anti-Gun Jurisdictions Mandate Expensive Psych Evaluations.

Are they crazy? What have they been drinking and smoking?
They must be out of their minds! What a bunch of nuts.
They gotta be off their meds.

    1. Furthermore, if anyone should be mandated to have a Psych Evaluation, it is the anti-gun left.
Talk about a group with a loose screw(s) and they top the list.

Trolling the liberals: Sororities Across the Nation Filming Sexy Dance Videos to Annoy Liberals. 😂

In retrospect, there is something darkly hilarious about the fact that these people…” liberals “… enacted a small reign of terror over our society for an entire decade. The return of sorority girl nationalism cannot come soon enough.

  4. Interesting how they don’t want an insane asylum. But they do want the tools, used that would discredit a person, who is sent to an insane asylum.

And the real mentally ill are allowed to run free. Many who are dangerous to themselves and others.
