China Shows Off Their Machine-Gun Toting Robodogs

What round does one employ to deal with rifle-toting robotic dogs? That’s now a question after China shows off their robotic military “dog” that sports a carbine rifle.  The armed “robodog” made its public appearance in Cambodia, a nation that doesn’t enjoy Second Amendment rights like the good old US of A.

Should tyrannical authorities – or Chinese troops who are “visiting” for whatever purpose – employ the rifle-toting pooches, the Cambodian locals would have to rely on sticks and stones to protect their families.

For the record, bringing sticks and stones to a robo gunfight ranks right up there with treating infections with leeches. Or performing heart surgery with a butter knife.

From Interesting Engineering:

China showcased its machine-gun-toting “robodog” drones during a 15-day military exercise in Cambodia. The biggest-ever drill between the two nations, China also exhibited other unmanned vehicles to Cambodian military personnel. …

The training included live-fire exercises, anti-terrorism training, and humanitarian and rescue drills. Apart from its scale, the highlight of the training was the presence of several Chinese drones.

By far, the show’s star is China’s armed “robodogs.” These four-legged, remote-controlled drone soldiers came equipped with back-mounted machine guns. While the drones were reportedly not live-fire tested, China did show off their mobility by watching Cambodian top brass and journalists.

Opening the exercises, the Cambodian armed forces commander-in-chief, Vong Pisen, stated that they (the robodogs) would “enhance the capabilities” of the two armies in the fight against terrorism.

The fight against “terrorism.” Don’t tell the political hacks working behind the scenes in the Biden administration. After all, they think Christians and patriotic Americans are the nation’s threat to democracy.  Or was it Global Warming?

Back to the original question…Does one use something like buckshot against a robodog? Armor piercing rifle rounds? A net gun or a Greener harpoon gun?  A flame thrower, perhaps? Maybe one mounted on your own robot dog?

Or perhaps some sort of electronic jammer to block the remote control link to the robot doggie?

The possibilities are endless. Unlike the Chinese ability to import food to feed their population if shipping lanes are disrupted.

  1. Honestly while a machine calibrated machine gun on a small mobile unit does have a lot of potential uses (CROWS turret memories) the robodog as precision delivered ied or flamethrower is far more terrifying in potential capabilities especially with the lower cost of equipment involved.

H’mm. Like civil ‘riot,… er, ‘protest’ control? 😉

It sure looks like the Chi-Coms managed to rip off the physics modeling in their copy of Boston Dynamic’s ‘Spot’. I hope it wasn’t a Chinese ‘intern’ they stupidly hired…

      1. More on the depopulation agenda concerns with typical housing standards for much of the modern world. With that said upper 90s percent chance of a large portion of the tech getting over there in such a way.

        1. All the Chi-Coms need to do is simply buy one and reverse-engineer it to their hearts (mis) content…

In another career I had to mitigate theft of intellectual property and while getting a product can be reverse engineered the loss of design experience and manufacturing expertise is a far greater issue as it allows years if not decades of figuring shit out to be skipped. They have been doing this heavily since at least the mid 90’s when Clinton gave them the mil tech and covered it up with the Monica scandal.

          2. “They have been doing this heavily since at least the mid 90’s when Clinton gave them the mil tech…”

Loral and their MIRV technology, they lied and claimed it was about deploying multiple satellites from one rocket, it was really about multiple nuke weapons on one ICBM… 🙁
