Instead of targeting gang members and other violent criminals driving serious violent crime in his state, Maryland’s Gov. Wes Moore has signed legislation to ban the sale of popular self-defense pistols. The new law targets GLOCKS and similar guns that can accept a (highly illegal) switch to make them full-auto. If you guessed Maryland’s Gov. Wes Moore is a Democrat, you guessed right. The Dems have gone hard in support for unconstitutional gun control for law-abiding citizens in response to crime carried out by criminals they refuse to prosecute and jail. All while party leadership live with armed bodyguards close by.
Maryland becomes the second state to enact such a gun ban after California. For now at least, existing owners can keep their firearms. Violations carry fines up to $5,000 and up to three years in prison. Anticipating the all-too-predictable move by Governor Moore, the National Rifle Association, Second Amendment Foundation and Firearms Policy Coalition have already filed a lawsuit challenging the law.
GLOCKs are among America’s most common pistols due to their simplicity, durability, and widespread adoption by civilians and law enforcement. Critics of the ban call it symbolism intended to burden lawful gun owners while being ignored by criminals. It’s akin to locking up shampoo and deodorant in stores instead of locking up shoplifters.
Despite some well-documented problems he’s had with the truth and falsifying his resume, Governor Moore is rumored to have presidential aspirations. He badly wants to become the nation’s second black president. The gun ban bill bill is party orthodoxy and intended to appeal to urban, low-information Democrat voters who favor more failed gun control laws over actual law enforcement.
‘Heller’ ruled guns in common use were expressly protected by the 2A, and Glocks of all flavors are the most popular handgun in the USA.
Time to file the lawsuits, and get the party started…
Absolutely agree, the democrat led lawfare against the people who do not vote for them is well organized. The governor of Connecticut led the effort and recently signed a bill banning cruciform fired pistols. Not one legally owned Glock-type pistol has been illegally converted to a machinegun in CT by a permiteed person. The innercity gangbangers are the ones who have been converting their illegally gotten pistols into machineguns…. Rather than treat this as a criminal problem as most crimes involving usage of a gun, the progressive legislature chose to ban the most prolific firearm of the last 40 years! Heller and Bruen were obviously overlooked or ignored when these became law. “The Constitution State” is an embarrasment to it’s former self and it’s “arsenal of the free world” stature. Most gun related manufacturing business have left for lower taxes and friendlier laws. Sturm, Ruger & Co has recently announced that they are moving their headquaters to North Carolina. Again Connecticut loses jobs, taxes and their rights.

Oh yes, let’s file more lawsuits. Time, money and resources spent yet again because SCOTUS won’t enforce their own decisions. More state by state whack a mole. Just enforce Heller, McDonald and Bruen. And forget about Congress. Neither side will give up an issue they can campaign and fund raise on.

That’s ok. He won’t make President. The Supreme Court will overturn that ban in general. We have become a much stronger society since COVID. All of this talk about banning this and banning that, will be thrown out by his next term.
