David Hogg is the Grift that Keeps on Grifting

At this point, anybody who reads NRA-ILA’s Grassroots Alerts even sporadically is well aware of the shameless, anti-gun self-promoter David Hogg.  He has parlayed his radical activism into what some might think was being gifted entrance into Harvard, a major position with the Democratic National Committee—a position he was quickly forced to surrender—and a well-paid gig running a PAC; a PAC whose effectiveness has been questioned by fellow Democrats.

All this has led to at least one “high-ranking Democrat outside of the DNC” alleging that Hogg’s political activism may be little more than a grift. Hence the title of this latest missive on David.

Hogg and his PAC have been criticized on a number of fronts. When he ascended to his position with the DNC, one of his first acts was to use that organization’s resources to raise money for his PAC (a PAC from which he draws his salary).

This was likely one of the reasons he is no longer with the DNC.

Then he boldly proclaimed his PAC would raise $20 million to promote candidates he supports in primaries, even if that meant going against Democrats that are currently in office.  While DNC officials had reportedly signed a “neutrality policy” earlier this year that seemed designed to protect Democrat incumbents, Hogg was apparently the only one to not sign.

Another probable reason he is no longer with the DNC.

While Hogg’s actions that seemed in conflict with the DNC are a bit of a black eye, the effectiveness of his PAC has also come into question.  It has lost a couple races—and by wide margins—in which it weighed in this year, and it can be argued the one primary “success”—radical anti-gun socialist (communist?Zohran Mamdani—was going to happen with or without his PAC.

Then there’s the goal of Hogg’s PAC raising $20 million. Two months after announcing the goal, the PAC had $1.5 million in its coffers.  Since its inception in 2023, it has raised a total of $15.3 million. Questions about the amount of money raised by the PAC when compared to actual donations to candidates led New York state Sen. James Skoufis (D) to remark, “At this rate, he would only have to raise a little over $3 billion in order to get his promised $20 million to primary candidates. THIS should be the story, folks.”

Some analysis of the spending by the PAC has led to questions about Hogg’s status as a “reformer.”  While he has railed against the Democrat status quo and regularly claims he wants to oust older incumbents in favor of younger candidates, even other Democrats imply his PAC operates similarly to other PACs.

In other words, there’s really not much “reform” going on.

Like many other PACs, Hogg’s has spent millions on consultants, digital ads, and donor lists, not to mention $5,000 on a fitness class subscription. And as an apparent effort to make nice with his former colleagues at the DNC, his PAC appears to have donated $100,000 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

That donation seems a bit odd, as the money could very well be used to counter expenditures made in races where the two PACs are in conflict. Then again, that might just be par for the course when it comes to the D.C. swamp, where Hogg seems to have settled in quite comfortably.

  1. Apply whatever labels / descriptions to Mr. Hogg that you want: he must be doing something right if he raised over $15 million since 2023.

If it were me, I would pay myself $300k per year for running the PAC and then retire after five years with a cool $1.5 million in the bank.

What I want to know, though, is how does someone launch something like that from scratch? How do you convince people with a lot of money to hand over millions of dollars to a PAC that has no track record?

    1. He didn’t really start from scratch though. He started with national attention by saying what Democrats want to hear. Dems love to see children lecture adults. For some reason, they think it’s effective (see “how dare you!” Greta). The news media gifted him a platform. He took it and ran with it.

I’ve always said he’s good at raising money. That’s why he won the position within the DNC. Of course it didn’t take him long to wear out his welcome.

  2. Hogg-boy is an effeminate, incompetent, narcissistic little soiboi. He hasn’t had an original thought in his entire life, he’s made EVERYTHING he allegedly achieved off the backs of dead classmates that he wasn’t even there with, he got into Harvard on that basis, and he graduated from (supposedly) one of our nation’s most exclusive institutions of higher learning, even more ignorant than when he undeservedly entered it. After his massively failed pillow venture, I have mentally thought of him as “that little pillow-biter”.

That anyone would consider this chucklef*ck anything other than a grifting clown is a testament to America’s failed education system. He’s an ignorant, indoctrinated, clown. But he’s managed to learn how to grift off of his Leftist/fascist compatriots, which puts me in mind of Kissinger’s famous quote about Iran-Iraq, “It’s a shame they can’t both lose.” While I’d love to see Pillow-biter unemployed and searching for a new grift, it’s also rewarding to see him scamming his Leftist/fascist donors into p*ssing away more money on him (so he can use it, ineffectively. Check out his track record on his endorsements).

David “Camera” Hogg, grifter of the gullible.

  3. More far left wing violence incoming: Far-left group hands out flyers at Michigan No Kings protest vowing to escalate ‘hostilities’ unless police, Supreme Court abolished (overall, demands are dismantling of ICE, Homeland Security, law enforcement, the Supreme Court, and property rights].

At the Ann Arbor ‘No Kings’ protest, a far-left anarchist contingent handed out these flyers threatening that if their demands are not met—the dismantling of ICE, Homeland Security, law enforcement, the Supreme Court, and property rights—they will escalate their attacks and unleash ‘disorder that will be without parallel in modern times.’

‘We demand that millions of nurses, temp workers, paramedics, staffers, and community members rise up, blocking the streets, taking over research centers, and raising the banner of FREE HEALTHCARE and MEDICAL AUTONOMY for everyone on US soil. And, that oppressed and brave people REVOLT against ICE, Border Patrol, Homeland Security, and local police, destroying their infrastructure, discrediting their operations, and overwhelming their personnel, returning safety and peace to our communities.’

The flyer also demanded that ‘angry mobs storm the Supreme Court, ABOLISHING IT outright, returning power to community elders, to wayward youngsters, and to those of us who earn trust in their communities continuously because of their care and humility, not appointed authority,’ and called upon ‘renters, homeowners, and farmers to DECOMMODIFY HOUSING and land, joining forces in grassroots networks to obstruct evictions, to abolish rent, to place families and individuals into dignified housing, and to BREAK UP THE MONOPOLIES in real estate and agriculture, who prey on our need for land in order to turn unprecedented profits.’

The flyer concluded, ‘Should we fail to observe the aforementioned demands within the allotted time, the disorder will be without parallel in modern times.’

  4. Anti-gun guy and nobody–I mean NOBODY cares about the gun issue any longer. Not them, not us

This is a little troubling. If the issue flares up-and a big assassination or school shooting can do that, then we are behind the power curve. Who hunts? Who shoots competitively? Where are they?

  5. “Then he boldly proclaimed his PAC would raise $20 million to promote candidates he supports in primaries, even if that meant going against Democrats that are currently in office.”

Anyone know how much, if any, of that 20 million comes from the US taxpayer?
