Since I legally purchased suppressors less than 12 months ago, I would probably want to legally purchase a rifle with a barrel less than 16-inches. Off the top of my head, it might be an AR platform rifle with something like a 10-inch barrel chambered in .300 AAC Blackout–upon which I would mount a suppressor and load sub-sonic ammunition for a fantastic and super quiet home-defense rifle.
Mr. Dude, I think it was you that suggested the DeSantis sticky ‘Flap’ .357 holster for my Ruger LCR in .357. I just discovered the additional flap keeps me from pushing the on button and killing the battery in my Rutger-official laser sight.
Just the opposite. It is stupid easy to fabricate low end suppressors, and the market will be awash with them in short order.
Suppressors in Europe are most commonly cheap aluminum ones that wear out after a few hundred shots. For, say, a deer rifle that maybe gets fired a dozen times a year, that’s good enough. The whole NFA rigamorale made that uneconomical in the US, but that will change very, very quickly.
Now, I already have a number of cans . . . so what do I want to see in the BBB goes through? I want an integrally-suppressed, magazine-fed SBS, which would be the perfect home defense weapon. (Jeremy, get Black Collar Arms on this and you’ll make a mint!)
Suppressors: I wear electronic hearing protection, with bluetooth paired to my phone, when I practice and hunt – which, so far, has been nearly all of my shooting. And, cans are not practical for my EDC needs.
SBR’s and SBS’s: I’m not tempted to give up the ballistic advantage of 18+” (well, except for two 15″ barrels for my T/C Contender).
But, if they’re delisted, I suppose I’d have to get one of each, just because I could.
I think the best use for a suppressor, other than fun recreation, is for a home defense SBR. You don’t need the 16-18″ ballistic advantage for a shot inside of 50 feet. A 9-11″ barrel with a 6″ suppressor would be perfect. You can still do plenty of damage on a 100 yard shot with the proper caliber/ammo. It wouldn’t be terrible for a truck gun.
I want a lever gun in .357 to go with my Ruger GP 100-7. If short guns were off the list I would want a really short lever gun.
JWM, I’m thinking along the lines of finding a beat-to-hell side-by-side 12 (or 16) gauge in a pawn shop as a fun starter project…
I have lots of shotguns. And a couple of good quality hacksaws in my kit. If the SHTF then some sawing gets done.

I think the AB A-10 7.62 looks like a good deal.
Uncommon, seriously consider a ‘Kali-Key’ bolt-action converter to make that .300 subsonic as quiet as it can be… 😉
Geoff,
I will look into that.
I’m going to drive back and forth across state lines with a trunk full of SBRs. Scary stuff!

Thanks again!
Yes, they work great. That’s mostly how I carry. It’s easy.
I think that the cost of suppressors will go through the roof because of demand. That said, I’d still want one
There will be a price spike, but then EVERYONE will be making them and the price will drop…
The cheap ones will probably sell out initially.

Threaded barrel for .22 and a can.
We will be seeing barrel threading for nearly all .22lr firearms not revolvers…
Meh.
