Jeremy Deadman and the team at XTech Tactical have launched two new flared magwells for the AR-15 platform: the X-Flare 556 and the X-Flare Digital. Both magwells are built for true mil-spec AR-15/M4 receivers. XTech says neither model fits billet or non-mil-spec lowers, which tracks perfectly because many billet lowers these days already have flared magwells.
According to the company, both create a funnel opening 1.75 times larger than a standard mil-spec magwell, which should make all of you high-speed, low-drag guys out there looking for faster reload times happy. Installation takes a few minutes and typically doesn’t require removing the trigger guard or pistol grip on milspec pattern rifles.

The X-Flare 556 is injection-molded from glass-filled, custom compounded nylon and uses sonic-welded metal threaded inserts. The company states it provides a smooth, polished lead-in for magazine insertion and comes pre-marked for 5.56 caliber. It is available in Black, FDE, and Grey.

The X-Flare Digital builds on the same base, but adds a customizable matrix surface. That lets users mark the caliber, rifle name, or other identifiers directly on the magwell. XTech says it uses the same custom compounded material and manufacturing process as the 556 model.

Listed features common to both models include a lightweight design adding approximately 28.5 grams (about one ounce), sonic-welded metal inserts with included steel bolts and injection-molded high-impact nylon construction the company describes as offering “exponential strength” compared to 3D-printed alternatives.
Both are covered by a lifetime warranty and manufactured in the United States. Each is available in single, 2-pack, or 5-pack configurations.
XTech Tactical co-founder Jeremy Deadman commented on the release at GunCon 2026 recently . . .
“We saw the market for minimalistic AR mag-wells develop over the past several years. The void was obvious to bring a better product at a better price to the market. And the X-Flare does exactly that. It’s simply unmatched in durability, execution and price. Expect rapid expansion from us as we closely follow market demand.”
The X-Flare 556 and X-Flare Digital are both priced at $39.95 for a single unit, with discounted pricing available on 2- and 5-packs. Both models are available now through XTech Tactical’s website and authorized dealers.

If you already have one of these, the first gen from a few months back right after the actual release – it has an issue with PMAG 3, and XTech has a fix with a newer rear part and you can get it from them. In doing a little bit of ‘assuming’ thinking I guess the newer gen has the newer part with it already so if you order one of these now you should get the updated version.
