Like many of you, I’m a fan of the 2011 platform. That’s why today, just in time for America’s 250th, Staccato has announced the Staccato HD P4X, a steel-framed addition to its HD line of 2011 pistols.
Staccato describes it as its most advanced mission-ready pistol to date. Similar to the compact versions, the HD P4X is built on the same 4-inch compensated platform as the Staccato HD C4X, which is the compact aluminum-framed version designed for concealed carry.
The new model replaces that aluminum frame with a precision-machined steel frame and, most importantly, a full-size grip, a change the company says is intended for professional use, duty belts, and overt carry. Read that as “larping at the range with your buddies.”

According to Staccato, the pistol’s key features include a 4-inch DLC-coated, flush-fit compensated barrel designed to reduce muzzle rise, a 4140 DLC-coated steel frame intended to absorb recoil, and a full-size grip that accommodates 18-round magazines.
Paul Smith, Senior Vice President of Product at Staccato, commented on the release:
“Every Staccato product is built to elevate human performance, and the HD P4X is the clearest expression of that yet. We engineered a hybrid full-size grip, 4-inch compensated pistol that delivers more control, more rounds and the kind of shootability the world’s most elite professionals demand. This configuration was one of our most requested, and the result is the most shootable, reliable, mission-ready handgun we’ve ever built.”

According to the official press release, the HD P4X includes ambidextrous controls with a dual-sided safety and slide stop, a reversible magazine catch, Glock-pattern magazine compatibility, an active firing pin block, and the company’s HD HOST optic-mounting system. The company also says every HD pistol is tested against federal Ballistic Research Facility standards, which it describes as protocols developed to simulate real-world defensive encounters.
Smith added:
“Everything we make is aimed at elevating the standard. From the materials and technology to our development and testing teams, every piece works to give Staccato customers the reliability and shootability they count on.”

The HD P4X is, as you’d expect, chambered in 9x19mm and will be sold in three configurations, with a starting MSRP of $3,599. Staccato says the pistol will be available through its authorized dealer network beginning July 13, 2026. Or if you’re in the area, you can likely pick one up at their physical range (Staccato Ranch) and retail store in Florence, Texas.
This is an obvious move by Staccato to capitalize on their already strong presence in the LEO duty-gun market, with a growing number of departments allowing officers to adopt 2011-style handguns as their primary duty weapons. Additional information is available at www.staccato2011.com.

Beautiful gun. Pricey, but I know someone who carries a Staccato and he says it’s his favorite by far of all he owns. But why “Internet operators” slap oversized WML behemoths on them (shown in the above pics) is simply beyond me. Protrudes past the muzzle, gets dirty, adds too much weight to the front end of the gun, pretty much relegates it to OWB carry due to the huge overall size, and just looks gaudy. My WMLs are literally one-third the size, fit the profile of the guns they’re mounted to, and provide plenty of light to clear a room without blinding myself by back-spray from an opposing wall.
But TEHO.
