SHOT Show 2025: New Timberwolf Pistols from Lone Wolf Arms

Lone Wolf Timberwolf TW19

The folks at Lone Wolf Arms have released complete pistols based around their Timberwolf frame in the popular 19 and 17 sizes. Lone Wolf Arms is the firearms side of Lone Wolf Distributing, who’ve been in the firearms parts game since 1998. With the release of complete pistols, users can now get match grade and competition level parts, without the need for benchtop assembly at home.

The Timberwolf frames have been on the market for several years and have proven to be well built and reliable build components. Lone Wolf Arms (LWA) built the Timberwolf frame to address the biggest concern often voiced about polymer frame pistols; the grip is uncomfortable. To alleviate this, LWA has adjusted the grip angle to a more vertical arrangement.

With the incorporation of interchangeable backstraps and an extended and radiused beavertail, shooters should find this customizable frame more comfortable and natural pointing. The Timberwolf frames are also compatible with most GLOCK-pattern double stack magazines, making life easy on all of us.

The complete Timberwolf Pistols include the Enhanced Flat Trigger. The EFT trigger provides a 30% reduction in peak force and a flat trigger face that has become so popular. I was skeptical about flat triggers, but once I put one in I realized the improvement it makes in the trigger press. The shooter is able to position the trigger finger lower on a flat trigger, taking advantage of the fulcrum and making the trigger ‘feel’ easier to press.

The slide has been customized the way that modern shooters expect. It’s milled for an RMR footprint, and comes with the cover plate if you decide to keep it analog. Slide serrations have been cut into the front, rear and top of the slide for solid grip while doing a press-check or any of the myriad of loading manipulations.

Topping the slide are the Night Fision lower 1/3 night sights. These sights feature a tritium vial front sight installed with an injection molded sleeve. LWA says these are the brightest night sights on the market, and produce what they refer to as The Perfect Dot. If you’re going to run a pistol optic, it makes a lot of sense to get away from the full suppressor height sights. They get in the way of the view and just occlude too much of the optic’s window. These lower 1/3 co-witness sights should be just the ticket to be there if you need them but not be in the way when you don’t.

Additional upgrades include a 416 stainless steel barrel, with an improved feed ramp for reliability with a variety of bullet weight and shapes. The hood of the barrel is also fluted to reduce friction during slide reciprocation. The barrels are rated for lead, plated, or jacket ammunition.
