I have a lot of content to write up from my fall trip to South Africa, but let’s start with a quick video (embedded above or on YouTube HERE). I brought my father along on a “work trip” and it was absolutely amazing from start to finish. From the wine country outside of Cape Town to hunting with Johan Petzer Safaris (I can’t recommend him higher) in the Eastern Cape, we had a fantastic trip in every way.
One of those ways was my dad taking his first animal ever. Well, let’s say his first mammal ever as he had gone bird hunting twice, I believe, with a friend many years ago.
Who the heck goes to freakin’ Africa, hikes all over God’s creation on a spot-and-stalk hunt, and nabs a really nice springbok on his first ever attempt at hunting? My dad, I guess. Check out the video above.
