TANDEMKROSS Just Released One of the Coolest .22 LR Guns Ever, The ADX

I’m not going to shy away from saying this…TANDEMKROSS is one of my favorite companies in the industry. Why? Because they make fun guns. And to me, nothing is more fun than a .22, whether it’s a rifle or a pistol. There’s next to no recoil, ammo is affordable, and with a suppressor, they’re as close to movie-quiet as possible.

Over the years, I’ve used a ton of TANDEMKROSS parts, whether it’s for a 10/22, Ruger MK IV, or a TX22. But in 2026, they took things to the next level by offering their own complete line of rifles (and pistols). It started with the TKX22 Light Rifle—a fun and (extremely) lightweight rifle. This is a great one to hunt with, have fun on the range, or teach new shooters. I love it. But TANDEMKROSS upped the ante with their next release—the ADX. The ADX family creates a unique, modular system that offers endless possibilities. Let’s check it out.

A Family of Guns

Each member of the ADX family combines the ADX Receiver, a lightweight Spitfire or Comet Barrel, and the modular Manticore X Lower to form a rimfire system with endless possibilities. Currently, TANDEMKROSS offers four unique models in the ADX line. These include the ADX Pistol, ADX Race Rifle, ADX SBR, and the ADX Braced Pistol. This covers nearly any situation and legal requirement a consumer needs.

Pistol Specs and Features

The standard specs are as follows:

  • Model(s): ADX Pistol (Option for Braced Pistol)
  • Caliber: 22 LR
  • Capacity: 20 rds.
  • Operation: Semiautomatic Direct Blowback
  • Sights: Optics Ready
  • Magazines: 1

  • Overall Length: 18.5”
  • Muzzle Threading: 1/2” x 28
  • Weight: 2.33 lbs.

TANDEMKROSS’s ADX Pistol brings a modern control layout and modular design to the .22 LR platform. Built around the ADX receiver, it features left-side charging (with the user ability to convert to the right side) for support-hand manipulation, easy bolt lockback, and a removable back cap that simplifies field stripping and cleaning with just three pins. The receiver also includes an integral extended Picatinny rail and proprietary Teflon-impregnated hardcoat anodizing.

The Manticore X Lower adds an enlarged bolt lock, a bi-directional magazine release, an adjustable trigger, an ambidextrous rotary safety, and a reversible QD sling mount. A configurable Picatinny section accommodates different optic heights or telescoping braces, while the Comet lightweight 10.2-inch barrel is threaded ½”x28 and uses a tensioned, M-LOK-cut sleeve.

Race Rifle Specs & Features

The standard specs are as follows:

  • Model(s): ADX Race Rifle

The TANDEMKROSS ADX Race Rifle brings modern controls and extensive customization to the Ruger 10/22 platform. Its ADX receiver features a left-side charging handle (with the option to flip sides) and an articulated bolt lockback, while a removable back cap allows the rifle to be field-stripped with three pins, simplifying cleaning. An integral extended Picatinny rail provides optic-mounting space, and Teflon-impregnated, hard-coat black anodizing improves durability and reduces bolt friction.

The Manticore X Lower adds an enlarged bolt lock, a bi-directional magazine release, an adjustable trigger, an ambidextrous rotary safety, and a reversible QD sling mount. A folding Picatinny buttstock offers adjustable folding direction, comb height, and angle. The 16.5-inch Spitfire barrel is threaded ½”x28 and uses an M-LOK-cut, tensioned sleeve.

TANDEMKROSS ADX SBR

The TANDEMKROSS ADX SBR brings the company’s modern rimfire controls and modular design to a compact Ruger 10/22-pattern platform. The SBR variant shares many of the same features as the Race Rifle, so I won’t bore you with repetition. The SBR retains the same Picatinny-style folding buttstock, which offers adjustable folding direction, comb height, and a 12° angle. The big difference is the use of a 10.2-inch Comet barrel. The barrel is threaded ½”x28 and uses an M-LOK-cut tensioned sleeve.

Zooming Out

All of these models are built for fun, competition, or for taking out into the woods for squirrels or rabbits. I personally like the SBR variant as a backpack/survival gun. The flexibility each of these offers is perfect for any scenario you can dream of. I’m excited to see TANDEMKROSS keep pushing the bounds of what’s possible with a .22. I can’t wait to see what they dream up next.
