Ruger has an extensive line of affordable pistol caliber carbines. The 9mm PC Carbine comes in 25 different stocks, finishes, flavors, and variations. In 2022, Ruger introduced the LC Carbine chambered in 5.7×28 to compliment their Ruger-5.7 pistol. They’ve since added a .45 ACP LC Carbine model and now, the logical extension is 10mm. To wit . . .
Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. is excited to introduce the Ruger LC Carbine chambered in 10mm Auto. This lightweight carbine features a 16.25″ threaded barrel, adjustable folding stock, Ruger Rapid Deploy folding sights and ambidextrous controls. With the stock set to the shortest length of pull, this LC Carbine is just 28.6″ in length. Based on the .45 Auto LC Carbine, the 10mm Auto carbine features right- and left-hand bolt releases, an octagonal handguard, reversible magazine release and is compatible with most off-the-shelf, Glock-pattern, 10mm Auto magazines.
The LC Carbine features an aluminum free-float handguard with M-LOK attachment slots, QD attachment points for slings, and a full-length Picatinny rail for AR-height optics. The folding stock is reversible and features an adjustable length of pull, but can easily be replaced with AR-pattern stocks. The rear of the receiver has a Picatinny rail for maximum accessory compatibility. The LC Carbine can be easily disassembled without tools, allowing for convenient cleaning and maintenance.
The LC Carbine utilizes Ruger’s safe, reliable and proven Secure Action fire-control mechanism that combines a protected internal hammer with a bladed-safety trigger that has a short, smooth pull, clean break and positive reset. Made in the USA of strong and lightweight materials, the Ruger LC Carbine is ideal for the range, home, or your next hunt.

I think I’d rather get the Hi Point carbine for what Ruger is asking for these. Carbines seem to be Hi Points one product with few or no issues that I’ve heard of.
Front sight can fly off if not overtightened (possibly epoxied into place) and cleaning/disassembly can be frustrating. And while I have no idea if the extended capacity mags work well the normal ones do and it is quite easy to hit anything out to extended pistol distance especially for the price.
“Front sight can fly off if not overtightened (possibly epoxied into place)…”
Would a thread-locker like Loctite blue work just as well as the more permanent epoxy?
Probably, I don’t think it would have anywhere enough heat to be an issue.
Is anyone actually using these carbines as more than just range toys? I mean if I wanted to use something in pistol caliber for defense, I have an MP5.
More than you would think (low income city settings typically) but yeah mostly a range toy. Oddly have heard more Ruger PC carbines used than mp5 or clones defensively.
This is great for the growing popularity of the 10mm, I wonder if there will be a 10mm PC Charger Pistol in the future?
