What Will AG Pam Bondi Have for Trump Today in Response to His Second Amendment Executive Order?

On February 7, President Trump issued an executive order instructing Attorney General Pam Bondi to . . .

examine all orders, regulations, guidance, plans, international agreements, and other actions of executive departments and agencies (agencies) to assess any ongoing infringements of the Second Amendment rights of our citizens, and present a proposed plan of action to the President, through the Domestic Policy Advisor, to protect the Second Amendment rights of all Americans.

Trump’s order required Bondi to review, at a minimum . . .

(i)  All Presidential and agencies’ actions from January 2021 through January 2025 that purport to promote safety but may have impinged on the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens;
(ii)  Rules promulgated by the Department of Justice, including by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, from January 2021 through January 2025 pertaining to firearms and/or Federal firearms licensees;
(iii)  Agencies’ plans, orders, and actions regarding the so-called “enhanced regulatory enforcement policy” pertaining to firearms and/or Federal firearms licensees;
(iv)  Reports and related documents issued by the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention;
(v)  The positions taken by the United States in any and all ongoing and potential litigation that affects or could affect the ability of Americans to exercise their Second Amendment rights;
(vi)  Agencies’ classifications of firearms and ammunition; and
(vii)  The processing of applications to make, manufacture, transfer, or export firearms.

Bondi is due to report back to Trump today. She had better have made real, progress and reached some substantive decisions…and not the 2A equivalent of her “Epstein binders” release and punt.

I’ve been willing to give Bondi a chance while others in the gun rights sphere have been critical, but it’s now time to put up or shut up.

    I would not expect any announcements of substance on this today. Its probably going to take a few days to see some type of action on her report.

        2A activist people tend to think that Trump and Bondi only job is to protect the 2A – there’s like a ‘million’ other things going on that Trump and Bondi need to take of of too. So yeah, although I do not think its a low priority (because hes done pretty good so far on addressing what he promised overall during his campaign), its probably something that needs more than a simple “Hey, Bondi did the report so ‘ala-kazam *poof*’ pro-2A wishes magically appear’ ” like the “This post was adapted by SNW from a tweet posted by Konstadinos Moros.” seems to expect.

  2. Trust. But verify. Give them time. They are very busy. A week or two more I think. So far the administration is doing very well.

    The Epstein list is not on my top ten list of things, I want seen done. As far as I’m concerned it is a distraction.

    Embarrassing people without hard evidence doesn’t advance a Liberty agenda. Will they be prosecuted???

    President’s of countries? Billionaires? I don’t think so.

  3. People forget. Executive orders can only go so far. Only the congress can repeal the NFA.

    So contact your congressman.

    1. I Haz A Question

      Yes, but Trump is currently the 800-lb political gorilla in the room, and garnering tremendous support from American voters. Congresscritters want to go with the momentum, and will give 2A topics more attention in the new climate than before. I say, let Trump push Congress to make those necessary changes we’ve been clamoring for.

      Trump could, via EO, open up a revolving 90 day amnesty period for NFA items.
      That’s already in law that the Executive branch can create 90 day amnesty periods.
      Could potentially include MGs…

  4. Has anyone heard if President Trump will petition the Treasury or Justice Department to have his 2nd Amendment Rights Restored? It would be nice to see him do so and along the way allow for others to do the same. Especially people who have long ago felonies with otherwise clean records. Any thoughts on this??

  5. A well regulate Malita, being necessary to the Security of a free State, the Right of the People Keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

    I’m waiting Ms. Pam Bondi! and I do hope you are good to your word, unlike to many of your predecessor’s! That you really are a strong Second Amendment Supporter. It is the Supreme Law of these United States of Americ, and the Grate State of Colorado.

    I learned in my study of Foundatinal Law the Word Matter! that words have Mening! I trust that you learned this in Law School and beyond!

    The Second Amendment is a very powerful piece of Supreme Law of these United States of America.

    I’m a Vietnam Era Honorable discharge US Army Veteran; I took an Oath to Uphold, Support and Defined the Organi Laws of the United States of America, and I’m brazen enough to expect the same from you Ms. Bondi! And all that follow you in this Donald J. Trump Presidental Executive Order. When I need a Legal Word Definition, I turn to my copy of Blacks Legal word Dictionary Vollum 11.

    There is nothing in the Second Amendment to prohibit Felons from Possessing Firearms, The Federal and State Laws hold everyone to the Same Level of Accountability as all others. If you can’t do the Time, don’t do the Crime! Colorado is one of the Wors offenders of the Second Amendment, pleas shut Colorado all the way Down! and bring Colorado into full Compliance with the Second Amendment forever!

    So far Ms. Bondi you have been very impressive!

    Best and warmest regard
    Raymond W. King Eckert Colorado
