I’m in Southern California and guns are not common here at all. I’ve shot them before with friends who own them years ago and I don’t mind them. Not once have I felt I’ve ever needed one.
I’ve seen a couple videos of ICE entering apartment complexes in neighboring cities. I would think the least I can do with my second amendment right is own a firearm and keep a sign outside stating that my home protected under that right. ICE is unpredictable and unhinged so I feel like it’s a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” scenario.
Seeing black panthers and white folk in Minneapolis protecting their neighborhoods is amazing to see. We do not have that at all here. I feel like our passiveness here will only make it worse because people (part of me does too) think exercising our 2A right to protect ourselves in our home will only make it worse. That mentality has gotten us nowhere. This is year one, if things keep going and getting worse I fear many of us will highly regret it.
I found a gun range not far from me that provides training for a fee that I am very interested in. I need to talk to my lady about it because I understand it’s a bit of a taboo subject around here.

From my time living in a state that required copious amounts of money to get a permission slip to exercise that right I recall one of the questions on the form was “for what reason do you wish to carry a firearm?”
The go-to legalese answer for such a question is “for all lawful purposes”.
I really hope these Confederates in MN are putting “to shoot cops” in that field.

And the police were ordered to stand down.
But when white homeowners came out to open carry long guns. As a visible means of protecting their private property. This guy said nothing.???

They remind me of the leadership in great britain during a world war two. Who wanted guns for their citizens because they were afraid of a german invasion.
