He rolled back proven safeguards, effectively legalized machine guns, and slashed critical violence prevention & mental health funding. Gun crime will increase and people will die.

The old saying, ‘Never interrupt your enemy when he’s making a mistake’ is often credited to Sun Tzu. Some attribute it to Napoleon. It’s possible that neither one of them said it. Maybe they both did. But here’s another one that wasn’t spoken by either, but one of them probably should have — Be sure to thank your enemy when they’re making your case for you.
A made member of the Civilian Disarmament Industrial Complex’s Big 3 is out with what they apparently intended as an indictment of Trump 2.0’s actions on guns in its first six months. And it’s glorious. If we set out to make the case that the nascent Trump administration is the most pro-Second Amendment administration in history, this list from Giffords would be a great place to start.
Here are the items they claim are hair-on-fire hoplophobic outrages . . .
- Effectively legalized machine guns
- Removed a memorial for gun violence victims
- Cancelled $1 billion in school mental health resources
- Dismantled community violence prevention funding and programs
- Reassigned ATF agents to immigration enforcement duty
- Announced an executive order to undo gun safety progress
- Gutted the CDC and HHS, removing staff who oversaw gun violence prevention programs
Some of those items are downright false and others are tendentiously worded. Then there’s the fact that America is not, in fact, less safe (violent crime has been falling for more than two years) as a result of them.
Many of the funding and personnel cuts Giffords mentions were the result of undoing key aspects of the Biden era years-long, “whole of government” assault on gun makers, retailers, and individual gun rights.
Taken as a whole, though, the seven “deadly” sins Giffords says Trump & Co. have committed since taking office represent more progress on gun rights than most of us could have reasonably hoped for or expected. Also keep in mind that Giffords left out other moves like killing off ATF’s pistol brace ban and eliminating the NFA’s $200 tax on silencers and short barrel rifles.
So by all means, let’s take time to thank our dear friends at Giffords for helping to make the pro-gun case for us while they call attention to what the current administration has done for the gun rights community since January 20. And with another 3.5 years still to go, it’s probably best to keep in mind the wise words of another one of history’s great tacticians . . .
You’ll get mixed up, of course, as you already know. You’ll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go. So be sure when you step. I’m very happy that the executive branch has done a wonderful job so far of cutting the budget.
And yes the legislative branch needs to make his reductions permanent. His 4D chess is rolling all over the democrats.
And he seems to have finally hired people who think like he does.

After trying real hard to pretend you people at Giffords are not pathological liars and give you every benefit of the doubt I still come to the conclusion you people at Giffords are pathological liars.
Bidens gun safety record his first and only term:

● Terrorized at gun point and threatened to shoot innocent American citizens including children.
Now, I want one of those ‘Effectively legalized machine guns’, because it sounds an awful lot like Giffords would like another ‘Biden’ in the White House.

…was getting tax payer dollars though the Biden money laundering operation called USAID. NGO’s would get tax dollars for some claimed cause and then pass it along to Giffords and other gun control organizations as ‘donations’ from the NGO. Giffords and the other gun control orgs would use those ‘donations’ to pay their upper management and fund law suits against the firearms industry.

What did The Donald XLVII do to legalize machine guns? They already are federally legal, at least those registered before the 1986 abomination. Did he restart production of legal full auto weapons for the civilian market? I haven’t heard of that.
Undo gun safety progress? What is that even supposed to mean?
Always beware of anyone on any side of an issue who speaks so vaguely: they are out to manipulate, not inform.
Ahh: he undid the trigger reset ban, because they arent machine guns. What a terrible man: he forced ATF to obey the law as it stands, not as Gifford’s wants the law to be.
