If you don’t frequent social media — and good on you if you don’t — you probably aren’t aware of reports that have been spreading (see here and here, for instance) claiming that Colt Canada, a division of the Colt CZ Group, is helping the Canadian government dispose of firearms that are being confiscating under that woebegone country’s latest spasm of anti-gun mania. The far left government that runs the great white north these days is engaged in a “mandatory gun buyback” scheme they say is intended to do away with what they laughably call “assault weapons.”
As you might expect, the prospect of one of the world’s biggest gun makers helping in any way to facilitate this process would not endear it to gun owners, either up in Canaduh or down here in the vastly bigger market south of the 49th parallel.
To find out what’s really going on, we asked CZ-USA directly. Here’s the statement they gave us . . .
In response to recent inquiries to CZ-USA, Colt Canada is not and will not be involved in the Canadian Government firearms buy-back program from Canadian citizens. Their activities in Canada remain focused on serving military and law enforcement customers.

In a country that’s doing such a tyrannical thing ya would think if Colt supports gun rights and the 2A here in the U.S. they would not be doing business with “serving military and law enforcement customers” in Canada.
You have a country that is, in effect, confiscating firearms from its citizens yet arming the instruments of the states power, their military and police, that can bought to bear against defenseless citizens at the whim of a tyrannical government.
Look at the U.K., King Charles III is the monarchy head of state for Canada. The U.K is basically no longer a free nation, its right to free speech has been quashed by the government, its right to assemble has been basically quashed by the government, its become illegal for individuals to even fly their own country flag because the U.K. government thinks its offensive to Muslims. But at the same time the country is basically being handed over to ‘immigrant’ and illegal alien Muslims who seem to be free to fly the flag of their origin-home country and assemble and rape and murder at will while police are arresting U.K. citizens for flying the U.K. flag or making social media posts talking about the erosion of freedom in the U.K. or about the Muslim rapists and murderers that have basically over-run the country and seem to act with impunity. Yet the people of the U.K. have been rendered defenseless by gun bans and confiscations and anti-gun laws over the years and are now defenseless against their tyrannical government while the U.K. government is free to, and does, employ its armed police against citizens simply trying to exercise free speech. And not only that but the U.K. government has become bold enough that even is lower functionaries in law enforcement can threaten American citizens with legal action for exercising our right to free speech in the U.S.
History shows us what happens when a government disarms its citizens. The U.K. is sliding into that abyss now, into that abyss of totalitarian or communist government. Canada has started down that road with its move towards disarming its citizens. Biden/Harris tried to get us started on that road and the democrats are still trying to do it. The first thing a totalitarian or communist government does is render the citizens defenseless, while at the same time arming its own instruments of power.
Colt CZ should not be doing business with Canadian ‘military and law enforcement customers’. I think a boycott of Colt CZ here in the U.S. is in order.
I like the sound of that, but I guarantee they would lose more revenue dropping Canadian military/LEO contracts than losing a small portion of US civilian sales.
Canada’s confiscation is a treasure trove of serviceable and valuable internal parts, barrels, stocks, etc etc.

Ask CZ USA if they helped destroy the firearms confiscated from Canadian Firearm stores in April? (They put out a press release statement they have not or will not from from Canadian Citizens). Confiscation from individuals only started on Oct 2nd. It will take a while to collect Them
A well regarded Canadian Firearms Vendor posted on a forum that he most definitely shipped his prohibited firearms to Colt Canada. The shipping address was to a Colt warehouse. CZ is doing damage control.

No where in this statement does CZ-USA, Colt Canada say they are NOT destroying confiscated weapons. It only says they are not participating in a ‘buy back’.
As a Canadian, I have see many media posts that Colt is involved in this forced gun confiscation program. For the few people that Colt/CZ has told they are not involved, they have very carefully said that they are “not involved in the buy-back program”. The allegations are that they are involved in the destruction of the guns the Liberal Government is confiscating. Not the actual “buy-back” parts itself.
There are people who have had to surrender their “assault rifles” and have publicly said they had to ship them to Colt Canada. Part of the Colt CZ Group.
A lawyer for the Canadian Coalition For Firearms Rights (CCFR) is reporting that Colt Canada has been contracted to destroy over 12,000 guns confiscated from businesses that have been banned.
Colt Canada is one of the few Canadian ‘contractors’ Canadian government has authorized to ‘receive’ ‘surrendered’ firearms for destruction. So it makes sense these victims of Canadian tyranny ‘forced’ confiscation are sending them to Colt Canada.
Despite repeated requests, Colt CZ has not responded denying they are involved in the destruction or receipt of such firearms.
