To all you Doomsters convinced that rolling back the neo-Marxist Democrat agenda is impossible, I want to offer you two words of encouragement: gun rights.
In the 1990s, the Second Amendment was on its deathbed. So-called “assault weapons” were banned, concealed carry permits were increasingly rare for ordinary citizens, “high capacity” magazines were the next target of the gun grabbers, Waco was legitimized as a necessary limit on unlawful gun ownership, and a national sensibility that only lunatics owned guns was taking hold.
We were well on the path to becoming Australia.
But a sophisticated, multi-level strategy by real conservatives at the federal and state levels, in the courts, and in Congress and the statehouses, transformed all of that.
Heller.
McDonald.
Bruen.
The AR-15, once banned, is now the most prolific firearm in the country. More than half the states have constitutional carry laws. Gun culture and the availability of reliable, accurate, reasonably-priced firearms have never been greater. Women in the U.S. see their gun as the great equalizer against rapists and criminals. Concealed carry classes are legion. We may soon have reciprocal carry rights in all 50 states.
Where we stand in 2024 with respect to gun rights was inconceivable in 1994. But here we are.
We won and we keep winning. Conservative ideas and policies can win. We can defeat the tyranny of the left. Gun rights show us the path. So, Doomsters, think about this and realize the MAGA agenda is attainable, and will be attained soon.
Be of good cheer.

“So, Doomsters, think about this and realize the MAGA agenda is attainable, and will be attained soon.

I am of good cheer, and so should you. Thanks to the census, Florida and Texas each get 4 new house seats, while Cali and NY state each lose 4 house seats. Combined with 2 other states each losing a seat, they are tangibly losing real political power.
That’s what *winning* looks like…
Only reason NY only lost one instead of 2 (or more) in 2020 was all the illegals. This problem will solve itself when starved of federal funding/bailouts. Medicaid would probably be another good target for DOGE to have a look at come to think of it.
It’s weird how the “mistakes” in the 2020 census benefited Democrats.
Still amazed our gerrymandering in the Democrats favor from that year got slapped down hard enough to get a neutral(ish) 3rd party to set up the districts and secure republican control of Congress for 22
“Only reason NY only lost one instead of 2 (or more) in 2020 was all the illegals.”
Yep, and to their horror, the illegals are now voting conservative, the percentage has been accelerating each election since 2016.
It seem the poorer a Latino immigrant is, the more devoutly Catholic they tend to be.
Surprise, Leftist Scum ™, your own hubris bit you on the ass bigtime! 😉
Maybe outside of NY but the ones we get are solid blue plantation types. Totally don’t vote though as that would be illegal, they just end up on the voter rolls automatically when we give them a driver’s license and send them to hotels in red counties.
“So-called “assault weapons” were banned…”
Actually they weren’t.
Some ‘features’ were ‘banned’ and some rifles were ‘banned. But… you could still own them and buy them and sell them if they were manufactured before that 1994 abortion attempt of the constitution, and you could still build your own, and in some cases they could still be manufactured commercially and sold during that 1994 abortion crazy period that sunset 10 years later. Lgs’s had many in stock that only lacked a bayonet lug and a lot of ones with the ‘evil forbidden lug’ that could still be sold, new 30 round mags were deceptively stamped ‘law enforcement only’ per the law to give a false impression but in reality there wasn’t a law that says they could not be sold to normal people and they were.
The bill could not even pass on its own, it had to be included in an omnibus bill as a compromise to get other stuff included.
In short, every time Joe Biden says he banned ‘assault weapons’ back then, he’s lying.
The problem is the propaganda worked wonders for a large demographic especially in the more populated regions. The states that were pushed the other way with pro gun legislation during the ban to just afterwards (South and later Midwest) did a lot to set up the arguments for many of the SC decisions we are using now. Next 10 years may see a collapse of gun control support as it’s main proponents (and funds) hit the retirement homes.
They will *never* give up on it, it’s the only way they can seize power and ban all guns, saving their hides from us hunting them down… 🙂
“…you could still own them and buy them and sell them if they were manufactured before that 1994 abortion attempt of the constitution…”
That was the only way they could secure the votes to pass that thing in the first place, and they were crossing their fingers they would be in power when it expired 10 years later.
Surprise! Bush won, and he didn’t renew it, and they couldn’t make the ban permanent.
Sucks to be them… 😉
