Virginia’s Democrat Senate Majority Leader on Why Their ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban and Magazine Capcity Limit Really Isn’t a Big Deal

Virginia Senate Majority Leader Scott Surovell

If you have an assault rifle, you can keep it. If you have an assault pistol, if you have one of these pistols with a silencer on it and a pistol grip in the front. A really big, big pistol…you want to have one with a telescope on it or lasers or whatever else you want, that’s okay. You just can’t buy a new one and you can’t sell it to anybody. If you want to have a magazine with more than 15 bullets, you can keep that, too. You just can’t buy a new one.

Or translated into the world of reality from the left wing mental illness world of ‘made up stuff and tyranny’ :

‘If you want to exercise this constitutional right you can’t because you can’t procure what you would need to exercise this constitutional right.’

Fact: What Virginia did is clearly and intentionally unconstitutional. There is no amount of ‘well, if you already have one that’s fine but ya can’t buy another one or sell the one you have’ delusional reasoning that can make this anything but clearly and intentionally unconstitutional on so many levels.

It’s always a fun exercise to replace one right with another in their statements.

“You can keep your current church. You just can’t expand or build new churches”.
“You can’t say anything we disagree with after July 1. And you’re limited to 15 words. And no megaphones”.
      ….

    2. The democRats in CT are trying to ban Glocks calling them “convertable guns” this is all being orchestrated at the DNC level to overwhelm, plain and simple! VA, WA, OR, CT CA, IL, NJ, etc they are all poking the hornet’s nest on purpose

      1. I do get a kick out of this hoax.

The switches are illegal, but nobody pays attention to the law.

So we’ll make a new one and ban Glocks!!

All the bangers will pay attention to the new law….this time….really…we’re always just one more law away from Utopia.

    1. That one’s different because abortion is actually a right spelled out in the Constitution, unlike the “arms” thing. You just have to be a Democrat with the secret decoding device in order to find it…

  2. At least one New England state is going back on that part of their law and adding “possesion” to their law now, so do not believe dem Virginia lawmakers at any point.

    1. “do not believe dem Virginia lawmakers at any point.”

A good idea is to Not believe lawmakers at any point until they are proven to be otherwise.

  3. I was stationed at Ft Eustis in Newport News VA. For two 4 year tours. I argued with libertarian’s on WNIS the AM and yes, libertarian talk radio station.

“The parties are all the same”

“Just make drugs legal and all the crime will go away”

    “I’m proud of not voting”

Some people just need to learn the hard way. And they like to quote, george orwell, animal farm!!!!

But it’s the libertarians who are the ones that are riding in the wagon. While others are working. Pushing and pulling, to keep liberty alive by voting.

  4. Hey Scott, if you want the $400,000 plus you’ve taken from Dominion lobbyists in exchange for raising our rates, you can keep it!

Fun fact, he appoints the commission that oversees rates, and once the rates go up, Dominion gives old Scott a cut.

  5. Alternate translation: “We don’t want murderers and rapists that our George Soros DAs and judges release to be blasted into Kingdom come by the citizenry.”

    1. It’s more like tribal retribution. They’re doing it because they want to punish you. They have power, and they’re going to use it.

Pretty sure when our FFs said ‘shall not be infringed’ they meant ‘shall not be infringed.

  7. Yah, welllll…FOR NOW. We’ll get back to you about taking weapons frm your estate and destroying them, without compensation, y’know, taxpayer is sooo scarce…and there’s no market in the state, nobody wants them.

  8. Most Democrat impulses seem to be unconstitutional … particularly those which seek to nullify the Second Amendment.

  9. You get what you vote for, and Virginians are getting it good and hard. If Winsome Sears would have had the support she deserved, this would be academic.

From Bangladesh to Banning Guns: Senator Saddam Salim Dismantles 2A in the Birthplace of American Liberty.

β€œMeet Virginia State [democrat] Senator Saddam Azlin Salim. He immigrated to the United States less than two decades ago from Bangladesh. He got right to work trying to take away basic rights of Americans. How is that assimilation thing going? Seems not so well.
    …
The Second Amendment was explicitly created to prevent someone with a name like β€˜Saddam Salim’ from taking your guns away.
