Gun control advocates do not just oppose civilian gun ownership; they also argue that guns in the hands of police make people less safe.
In January, a Border Patrol agent in Portland shot and wounded two Venezuelan nationals who belonged to the violent Tren de Aragua gang after they allegedly tried to run agents over with their vehicle. In response, Kris Brown, president of Brady United, tweeted the following:
“We don’t know the details behind the shootings of 2 people by a Border Patrol agent in Portland. But I know one thing for certain: whether in the hands of federal officers or everyday Americans, guns do not make us safer. Yet Trump is reshaping our country based on this lie.”
What were the Border Patrol agents supposed to do when an illegal alien with a criminal record tries to run over an agent? How are unarmed agents supposed to apprehend and detain violent gang members?
Currently on its website, Brady United explains: “Why Police violence is gun violence … As we work to tackle the gun violence epidemic in America, we cannot ignore police violence or its devastating effects.”
The same claim is made repeatedly by other gun control groups.
“Police violence is gun violence and that’s why our movement must be responsive as well,” declares Shannon Watts, president for Moms Demand Action.
“Police violence is gun violence,” proclaims Gabby Giffords, with the Giffords Law Center.

“…guns do not make us safer. Yet Trump is reshaping our country based on this lie.””
This is a flat out lie.
1. “guns do not make us safer” is a response created by the anti-gun because they claimed that overall we in the gun-community claimed that ‘guns make us safer’. The gun community never, overall, claimed that ‘guns made us safer’.
What we have claimed is that in cases of attack by criminal elements that guns saved lives thus made those lives safer – and this is born out by fact up to millions of times a year. This “guns do not make us safer” is a complete fabrication made up by anti-gun doing what they usually do – ignore context and fact and twist things to suit their agenda then regurgitate their made up delusional version of it.
2. Trump is not “reshaping our country based on this lie”. The only lie here is from the anti-gun. All Trump is doing is putting the constitution back in play after 4 years of the Biden admin blatantly ignoring it and sidelining it and creating unconstitutional defacto law via agency to intentionally bypass congress and stealing tax payer dollars in a massive money laundering scheme through USAID, and the anti-gun are upset about it as well as the rest of the left wing because they are the ones that want to control everything including the money.
The anti-gun do this – create these emotional heart-string tugging statements and arguments that are false. Like the ‘guns are the number one killer of children’ lie they spouted for years until someone actually dug into the data they were using and discovered it was a lie because they included adults in their numbers to falsely inflate their data in studies, paid for by them, they used to claim that. So like that here they are now regurgitating their own lie with “guns do not make us safer” and “Trump is reshaping our country based on this lie.”
Is that what she normally holds in her hand?
