One need look no further than California’s AB 1127—a bill advancing through the legislature that amounts to a de facto ban on GLOCK handguns, one of the most popular and reliable pistols among law-abiding Americans.
The legislation doesn’t need to say “GLOCK” by name. Its language targets semi-automatic pistols that can be “readily converted” into machine guns with illegal aftermarket devices—a reference to the notorious full-auto “switches” already banned under federal law.
But it’s not illegal devices that the California bill punishes—it’s the design of the pistol itself. That’s why it overwhelmingly affects GLOCKs and GLOCK-style pistols, and why it’s raising alarm among gun owners and Second Amendment advocates alike.
The Real Purpose of the Second Amendment
What’s most troubling about Newsom’s narrative is that he fails to understand the foundational purpose of the Second Amendment.
It’s not about duck hunting.
It’s not about “common sense gun safety.”
It’s a fundamental protection against tyranny—a last safeguard against enemies both foreign and domestic.
That was the Founders’ clear intent when they wrote, “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
Newsom’s constant push for radical gun control—more than 70 gun restrictions signed into law since he took office—reflects a deep-seated hostility to this principle.
From his proposed 28th Amendment that would gut the Second Amendment entirely, to supporting “sin taxes” on gun and ammo purchases, to backing unconstitutional advertising bans that even the left-leaning Ninth Circuit couldn’t defend, Newsom’s record reveals a politician working overtime to dismantle the right to self-defense.
The GLOCK Ban Is Just the Beginning
If Newsom and his allies succeed in banning one of the most common handguns in America—under the guise of stopping illegal machine gun conversions—what firearm is safe?
The answer is none. Because as we’ve seen with bills like the GOSAFE Act and other “assault weapons” bans introduced by Democrats in Washington, the modern anti-gun agenda doesn’t stop at AR-15s. It targets semi-automatic rifles, shotguns, and handguns—the overwhelming majority of firearms in circulation today.
This is why gun rights groups are warning that AB 1127 is not just about “machine gun switches.” It’s about setting the precedent that entire classes of handguns can be banned based on speculative misuse, even when federal law already criminalizes that misuse. And it’s why the GLOCK ban, if passed, will almost certainly be used as a template for other blue states to follow.
Don’t Trust Newsom’s Words—Trust His Record
Governor Newsom wants to have it both ways—appearing reasonable on guns to moderate voters while quietly supporting legislation that chips away at gun ownership one law at a time.
But the evidence is clear: you can’t claim to support the Second Amendment while simultaneously banning the most popular firearms used for self-defense, law enforcement, and home protection.
No serious supporter of constitutional rights believes in taxing them, regulating them out of existence, or shifting control over them to bureaucratic fiat. Yet Newsom has done all of that—and is positioning himself to do more on a national stage.
The truth is, the Second Amendment is under siege, not by criminals—but by politicians who believe they know better than our Founders and better than the millions of Americans who responsibly own firearms.
If Gavin Newsom is the future of the Democratic Party, then the right to keep and bear arms faces perhaps its greatest threat in decades.
And that’s a truth gun owners can’t afford to ignore.

We’re a nation split between “Blue no matter who” and “Red or dead” so expect every politician to get increasingly more brazen and deliberate in their lying.
It has been shown time and again that even being caught on camera makes absolutely no difference whatsoever for any of them.
Politicians have always been lying, cheating salesmen of themselves. We’ve simply outgrown the need to play coy or pretend we don’t know this.
Passed clean through the “post-truth” era and entered full speed into the “why bother, nobody cares?” era. Next up the “as long as I get mine” era followed by balkanization and war.
They have to lie. If they were honest about their intentions, they would only receive about 30% support on a national level.
If flooding the country with three million illegals per year was a wonderful thing, then why weren’t they bragging about it? Why were they pretending that the border was secure until election season when they switched to pretending like they wanted to fix their self-inflicted crisis? There are still a lot of moderate, but ignorant, Democrat voters out there. Dem politicians know they can count on the media to overlook the lies and failures while harping on Orange Man/Republicans Bad. Example: why did a show losing $40 million per year get canceled? Because Trump. Senator Warren is going to investigate it.
Colbert makes $15-$20 million a year from his contract. Since he took over the show its lost ~75% of its viewer ship, and the guy is not really funny to begin with and basically switched the format to ‘orange man bad’ and in that ~75% of its viewer ship lost almost 75% of that were left wing liberals in the 18-49 age demographic. The show looses over $40 million a year, and Colbert had driven up production costs exceeding $100 million a year, plus they still have to pay Colbert. Late night shows have been declining in viewership over the last five years, but more importantly for these shows financial bottom line is those losses were mostly all in the coveted 18-49 age demographic which is a major critical group for advertisers, and this was also true for the Colbert show and he wasn’t doing anything to keep this viewership intact but instead went on to make it his ‘one man’ soapbox. The show had stopped being ‘entertainment’, had stopped attracting viewers overall, advertisers were loosing money on it because of the loss of the large portion of the viewership 18-49 age demographic, had stopped being ‘relevant’ to audiences, lost touch with its audience and isolated them, and had become a ‘one man’ soapbox costing more to produce than what it was generating, and the network made the decision to cancel it even though they were thinking about doing it last year and had thought about it originally in 2023. But Colbert gets to continue the show into 2026 when his contract expires to make another bundle of millions of $$$.

This had nothing to do with Trump, it was a pure business decision. And democrat ‘hiawatha’ Warren the fake-indian ‘investigating’ is another piece of the grand failed production of the democrat political kabuki theater play they make up as they go along.

A thought: if this bill passes into law, all firearms, ammo, firearms-related, and LE equipment manufacturers should henceforth announce that they will place a complete embargo on sales even to CA law enforcement, National Guard, etc. It’ll be interesting to watch Democrat reactions when they realize that their police departments can’t purchase new service firearms, have to ration ammo, and can’t acquire needed gear.

The only reason Democrats are talking about Epstein right now is because they think they can make it a Trump scandal, conveniently forgetting that the reason the Democrats ignored the story for years was because many high-profile Democrats, like former President Bill Clinton, were close associates of Epstein and flew on his plane regularly.
