The 2A to the Contrary, Anti-Gunners Continue to Deny the Right to Civilian Gun Ownership

The facts are clear. Guns are plentiful and common sense attempts to limit their availability have been largely rejected in the name of a freedom not found in our constitution. Cutbacks in funding for health care and social service programs will only exacerbate a national mental health crisis and increase alienation. We therefore pray for those who hold the power to make the safety of our people a national priority.

  1. “Cutbacks in funding for health care and social service programs…”

There were no “Cutbacks in funding for health care and social service programs” for those legitimately and legally entitled to them which are American citizens.

    1. They’re only a few more social workers away from solving the problem. More money please. It will work this time. Promise!

    2. More winning for rural folks, this is exactly what they voted for:

“The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (H.R. 1) would result in 1.8 million individuals in rural communities losing their Medicaid coverage by 2034. In addition, select Medicaid provisions in H.R. 1 would result in a $50.4 billion reduction in federal Medicaid spending on rural hospitals over 10 years.1 See the chart on the next page for a state-by-state breakdown of rural spending and coverage losses.“

      https://www.aha.org/fact-sheets/2025-06-13-rural-hospitals-risk-cuts-medicaid-would-further-threaten-access

Even more winning for rural folks gold

“LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska farmers are facing a tough crop market, and it’s hurting the rest of the state’s economy.

According to a report from the U.S. Bureau of Economic analysis, Nebraska’s gross domestic product fell more than 6% in the first quarter, tied with Iowa for the largest decrease in the nation.
It’s because of losses in agriculture.”

      Winning!

  2. The churchies push for handouts because it comes back to them through various orgs and non-profits. Always grifting.

Maybe Democrats should try keeping 14 time violent offenders locked up? Say her name you no-cash bail, anti-institutionalization, pro Kensington Ave, SJW’s.

    1. Hey now! She’s just a working-class female refugee FROM UKRAINE. None of those are things that Democrats routinely profess to care about. That’s why they want this story gone ASAP, right?

  3. “Guns are plentiful and common sense attempts to limit their availability have been largely rejected in the name of a freedom not found in our constitution.”

False, reference U.S. Constitution, ‘Bill of Rights’ portion, second enumerated right, and over 1,000 SCOTUS decisions citing those rights in that Bill of Rights are in fact ‘freedoms’, also reference the Federalist writings, and thousands of constitutional scholars and writings over time, also reference ~300 American citizens that belive those rights represent freedom (although some of them may not like others having at least one of those rights)

    1. “…and common sense attempts to limit their availability have been largely rejected…”

      1. Its is not common sense to attacker the constitutional rights of millions of law abiding Americans.

      2. You ‘common sense’ has been largely rejected because it either illegal or unconstitutional or both, plus, Americans don’t like it when they rights are threatened.

So Cardinal, I suggest you stick to the Church and stop trying to bully and play politics with false hoods – and, oh by the way, that anti-gun faction you have allied yourself with are also allies of those who seek to do away with the Church and Christians so maybe how about, you know, do what the Church and you are suppose to be doing by staying with the faith and stop playing liberal and politics.

      1. .40 cal,

Apparently, “common sense” performed well at some ‘focus group’ conducted by Bloomberg, Moms for Fascism, etc., because they’ve been using that catch phase relentlessly ever since Mini Mike’s Minions got a few anti-gun Leftist/fascists to sit down and vent to them. The Dims use it, the MSM uses it, and their level of complete ignorance about both firearms AND the crime statistics is simply mind-blowing.

It has gotten to the point where, as soon as I hear the phrase “common sense gun control”, I tune out. You want to present a concrete policy proposal? Then sell it as that. Oh, you can’t SUPPORT, with facts and logic, your policy proposals??? Perhaps the problem isn’t the ‘gun nuts’, perhaps it’s the ignorance and aggressiveness of the hoplophobic idiots who run these organizations.

  4. I certainly could be mistaken, however, I believe that the “separation of Church and State” was partially to enable the Church to provide some level of social service, especially to the poor, homeless, and sick. While soup kitchens exist and no-doubt some establishments will provide shelter and clothing to those in need, I feel that this has been largely abdicated.

    1. ‘social service’ (as you describe) by the church is a church doctrine and mission/function based on the teachings of Jesus and his exhortation and examples to care for the ‘needy’ – its got nothing to do with “separation of Church and State”.

the “separation of Church and State” principle came about this way:

The Baptists were worried about the freedom to practice their faith. They wrote to Thomas Jefferson “what religious privileges we enjoy, we enjoy as favors granted, and not as inalienable rights,” which is “inconsistent with the rights of freemen.”

Jefferson wrote back that religious liberty, free from state tampering, would be a key part of the American vision. The Constitution, he wrote, would “restore to man all his natural rights.” he further explained the intent of the Establishment Clause and Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution, which reads: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…” This, he said, built a “wall of separation of church and state.”

And that’s where the principle of “separation of Church and State” comes from, from Jefferson’s explaining some of the intent of that part of the First Amendment.

    1. ‘Toxic Empathy’ and the End of the Progressive Project.

“Twenty-three-year-old Zarutska’s killer — … — was 34-year-old Decarlos Brown Jr., a fare-jumper with plenty of time to kill after being caught and released by local authorities yet again.

Brown served a five-year sentence for a 2014 armed robbery, ending in 2020. Within five months of his release, he was arrested again for assaulting his sister at her Charlotte home. “Brown got into trouble again after making false emergency calls to 911,” NDTV reported, ‘claiming that a ‘man-made material’ was controlling his body,’ but officers determined that Brown had a ‘medical issue’ and that there was nothing else they could do.

Brown required some kind of incarceration — whether criminal or psychiatric — but progressivism’s ‘toxic empathy’ kept him on the streets.

Yet Judge Teresa Stokes released him yet again earlier this year, ‘based solely on his written promise to appear in court at a later date.’

No bail, just a note from an insane homeless man with a long record.

Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles seems more concerned with her political image than justice.

      Images…

‘The still image of the moment the madman’s knife begins its descent is the most damning optic I’ve seen in years,’ PJ Media’s own Athena Thorne wrote (in a don’t-miss piece) yesterday, ‘and it will now become the face of the modern Democrat party.’

Give the progressives on the left some credit because they understand the stakes — they have the brooms, and they’re furiously sweeping. But Zarutska’s story will not die.

      1. There’s a point at which a person is irredeemable.

You’d think the self-proclaimed “party of science” would realize this.

Three strikes are not enough? Okay. Here we have 14. Is that enough?

“Career criminal” should not be a thing. If the Dems are so worried about losing their cheap illegal labor they can replace them and make society that much safer with “career criminal” labor. 14 strikes? Congratulations, you get a job for life under the watchful eyes of armed guards. Make them literally lay their debt to society.

        1. The pols need violent crime so they can keep asking for more money and bigger government to fix the problems. They also need to keep certain people down so they’ll keep voting Democrat. Locking up criminals is somehow racist, and only Republicans are capable of being racist. Law and order is just code for white supremacy. The racism angle helps with a big chunk of the constituency.

The champagne liberals vote to keep criminals out of jail so they can finally feel virtuous about something. Locking them up would be mean, and they aren’t mean. They’re nice, accepting people striving to be anti-racist.

          1. “The pols need violent crime so they can keep asking for more money and bigger government“

Yes, we see that even in today’s headlines:

“Trump, apparently misled by video of 2020 protests, threatens to send troops to Portland

Donald Trump told reporters that he might send national guard troops into Portland, Oregon, apparently because he was misled about the scale of small protests there by a TV report that featured video of a 2020 protest wrongly described as having taken place this summer.“

  5. SCOTUS Issues Critical Ruling on L.A. ICE Raids.

“The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in favor of the Trump administration today, blocking an order by a federal circuit court judge that had limited federal agents from making ‘indiscriminate’ immigration-related stops in Los Angeles and other areas in central California.

  6. Trump Administration Just Launched ‘Operation Midway Blitz’ to Catch Illegal Immigrants in This City.

“The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced on Monday that it has launched “Operation Midway Blitz,” an aggressive effort to find, arrest, and deport illegal immigrants in Chicago.

The operation is in honor of Katie Abraham, who lost her life after a drunk illegal immigrant killed her in a hit-and-run accident in Illinois.

Assistant DHS Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said the operation ‘will target the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens in Chicago,’ according to a press release.

‘For years, Governor Pritzker and his fellow sanctuary politicians released Tren de Aragua gang members, rapists, kidnappers, and drug traffickers on Chicago’s streets—putting American lives at risk and making Chicago a magnet for criminals,’ McLaughlin added. ‘President Trump and Secretary Noem have a clear message: no city is a safe haven for criminal illegal aliens. If you come to our country illegally and break our laws, we will hunt you down, arrest you, deport you, and you will never return.’

  7. Notice how Cardinal Cupich didn’t bother to mention the mentally ill trans killer in his statement on the school shooting in Minnesota. Nope, its the guns fault – not the fault of Walz and other democrats who created laws and policy that protected this killer from being identified as mentally ill, not the fault of Walz and other democrats that created this monster and let him roam free, its not the trans killers fault… nope, an inanimate object jumped up and did it all on its own so lets take away the right of millions of law abiding people who did nothing and had some of them been there and armed would have engaged this mentally ill trans killer and stopped him or died trying – while Waltz denied this school and other catholic schools the funds to beef up security and have armed security that would have had a good chance of having made a big difference here.

  8. “… a freedom not found in our constitution.”
“… our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

What translation was the cardinal reading from?

    1. “What translation was the cardinal reading from?”

      the anti-gun translation.

This wasn’t a message of acknowledgement and sympathy and compassion the Cardinal put out – its was an anti-gun message from the anti-gun orgs, and anti-gun people and the dem politicians, in Chicago figuratively ‘dancing in the blood of the innocent’ to exploit this for the emotional appeal. Notice how its following the same ‘infomercial formula’ that appears in every anti-gun org statement on such things, its not ‘organic’, it was written for him.

The infomercial formula is designed to appeal to the ’emotional’ side of a persons reasoning to overcome logic and facts and reasoning that may be contrary. This is the infomercial formula: An easy-to-follow story creates and drives attention, leading the viewer through a series of simple, easily agreeable arguments that culminate in a product-centric call to action (the emotional based person would probably or possibly buy what ever is being pushed).

Now look at the Cardinal statement and anti-gun org statements on such things. You find (their narrative of) an easy-to-follow story that creates and drives attention, leading the viewer (i.e reader in this case) through a series of simple, easily agreeable arguments (i.e. we can all agree that this was a heinous act and that children were killed or wounded) that culminate in a product-centric (i.e. ban guns) call to action.

This is not a normal Catholic church leader statement, especially from a Cardinal of the Catholic church. Its too ‘formulmatic’ and ‘cold’ (i.e. its nature is clearly not focused on the victims, but rather the anti-gun message), doesn’t mention the true true root cause (i.e. mental illness driven evil – it is a Catholic church doctrine that evil acts and those who do them are to be called out publicly by name). Its an anti-gun statement.

      So here are the facts:

      1. The gun did not do this. This mentally ill trans killer did this. (the anti-gun infomercial formula in the Cardinals statement deflects from this and doesn’t mention it to focus on gun. The whole narrative leads one along the path, the “easy-to-follow story”, of ‘gun did this’ which is not true).

      2. This mentally ill killer was documented as being mentally ill. Yet, because of the trans protective laws in Minnesota enacted by Walz and his merry band of democrat law makers this trans killers mental health issues were not permitted to be disclosed and had they been, under law, in Minnesota he would not have been able to legally purchase/possess firearms. (not that this would have stopped him from procuring firearms illegally, but he was known to be in possession of firearm by police, they had encounters with him, but because his mental health issues were protected by trans-serving-centric-law in Minnesota from being disclosed and used to either red-flag him or prevent him from legally purchasing.)

[note: In Minnesota, for some of the firearms this trans person was legally able to buy in Minnesota a permit to purchase is required. In Minnesota, purchasing an AR-15 requires a permit to purchase, along with other guns the trans killer used in his attack was an AR-15 he had legally purchased at a firearms dealer store – had he not had a permit to purchase he would not have been able to buy the AR-15 as the firearms dealer would have refused to sell to him. So he was able to get a permit to purchase but because of the the protective trans-serving-centric-law in Minnesota his mental health illness history could not be used to deny him permit to purchase thus he was legally able to buy the guns.]

      3. Despite having billions of $$$ in surplus tax payer money, Walz specifically refused to give money to Catholic schools (~$43.00 per student, overall less than $4 million dollars), the ones in Minneapolis especially which included this one, to hire armed security and beef up physical security – while Walz at the same time was crowing about how he was making ALL schools safer. Instead, Walz spent the tax payer money surplus (most of it) on making the state more ‘trans friendly’. Armed security here would have probably made a big difference as the trans school shooter, like all the school shooters have, specifically selected this school because it was not likely there would be armed people.

      4. Over 150 million law abiding gun owning Americans did not do this heinous act. But for some reason in their deep dark ’emotion and logic and reason’ confused and warped hearts and minds anti-gun and democrats and Walz ignores that Walz and his merry band of democrat law makers created this monster (by creating the ‘environment’, protected by law, under which he could thrive) and turned him loose in society and its this mentally trans killer that did this – but according to anti-gun the rest of us innocent law abiding people now must pay for it with our rights being taken.

  9. This is my problem with church leadership. They know less about the bible than I do. And Or they ignore the self-defense use of “guns” in the bible.
