Something about the way that Talarico says “I’m not interested in taking anyones guns” makes me think he’s interested in taking someones guns 😂

James Talarico is many things, but he appears to be smarter than Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke. To be fair, that’s a decidedly low bar, because the El Paso Democrat chronically lacked the necessary cranial capacity needed to figure out that gun control doesn’t sell well here in Texas.
During his first statewide race challenging Ted Cruz for his Senate seat back in 2018, the pseudo Hispanic called for another “assault weapons” ban. He lost.
Then in his abortive 2020 presidential run, he famously announced from the Democrat candidate debate stage that “Hell yes, we’re gonna take your AR-15, your AK47.” He lost (well, he dropped out of the race not long after).
His final humiliation came in 2022 when he chose to go up against Governor Greg Abbott for the big chair in the state capitol. He did that despite the knowledge that no one in Texas had forgotten his prior calls first for an “assault weapons” ban and then for outright confiscation. Again, he lost.
Now comes Talarico. He’s the Democrats’ nominee to face either sitting Senator John Cornyn or Ken Paxton in November. Since winning the nomination, lots of awkward revelations have bubbled up about the Texas State Rep. on a range of cultural issues. But one bullet he’s dodged so far is the touchy matter of guns.
In an interview with the Houston Chronicle excerpted above, JT clearly wants to make it perfectly clear that he’s “not interested in taking anyone’s guns.”
That, of course, is almost certainly a lie. It’s one of those lies that politicians tell during campaigns because they know that if they the were honest, the answer would be disqualifying. Gun control — up to and including confiscation — is a fundamental pillar of Democrat party orthodoxy. In the same way that literally no one would believe him if he said, “I’m pro-life,” “There are only two sexes,” or “All illegal aliens should be deported,” literally no one should believe this one, either.
But his actual stance on the issue doesn’t really matter. Even if he really doesn’t want to take anyone’s guns away, if he’s elected, he’ll be a perfectly reliable vote for gun control in the US Senate any time the issue comes up. And he’ll be every bit as reliable a vote to confirm judges and — God forbid — Justices who would rule in such a way as to tear down the protections of the Second Amendment.
So far, then, Talarico has sidestepped at least this hot-button issue. He’ll still try to portray himself for Texans as a “moderate” while fighting the growing perception that he’s woke or creepy or whatever, but unlike Beto, he’s been smart enough not to step on the Second Amendment landmine. For now.

A fake christian who cites a made up fake gospel from his own left wing interpretation of bible verses, his interpretations having been debunked into oblivion by not only actual Christians but scholars on both the left and right and even the bible its self, to fool people into thinking he is a christian – says ‘I’m not gonna take your guns’ after hes already said ‘I’m going to take your guns’ by being yet another left wing democrat politician. At least O’Rourke didn’t try to fool anyone on it and just came right out and said it.
If you people in Texas don’t see Talarico for the obvious liar he is, not only on guns but for just about everything, there is no hope for you.
