After Four Months, Trump is Already the Best Gun Rights President of the Modern Era

I think we’re getting to the point now where even the more cynical gun rights supporters need to admit that President Trump is doing pretty well on Second Amendment issues.

He’s not perfect, as the continued pursuit of certain cases demonstrates. And we should continue to demand more, as lots of promises are left to keep. But he is — by far — the best in the modern era.

Among the accomplishments so far, he . . .

1. Got rid of ATF’s “zero tolerance” enforcement campaign
2. Is implementing an overdue gun rights restoration process
3. Filed the first-ever pro-2A amicus brief from the federal government in Wolford v. Lopez (guns in bars)
4. Is investigating the LA County Sheriff for excessively long carry permit wait times
5. Is speeding up the Washington, DC permit issuance process
6. Has settled the the case regarding ATF’s ban of forced reset triggers

And that doesn’t count the (mostly) good judges he appointed during his first term.

The lesson…stop dooming. Things are moving in the right direction and a lot of progress has been made in a very short time.

Now if only the Supreme Court’s recent record were half as good as that.

  1. Compare and contrast Trump’s foreign policy tour to Obama’s apology tour and Biden’s embarrassing tour and incoherent policies. It turns out all we needed was a new president.

I’m getting what I voted for. The executive branch is doing what I hoped he would do. Now will the legislative branch do their part???

The gun utopians will never be happy. At the founding, the Bill of Rights was not applied to every American civilian. It took another 200 years for civil rights to be applied to all Americans.

And most utopians don’t even vote.

  3. I’d like to see the administration start suing the states for violating citizens’ rights, as well as withholding funding. One can dream.
