The Revamped, Redesigned BANISH 30-V2 .30 Caliber Suppressor

The original BANISH 30 suppressor was one of the best-selling cans in America for a goodly amount of time. Last year, BANISH gave the suppressor a thorough makeover. The result — the BANISH 30-V2 — is lighter, shorter and quieter than version 1.0. As Martha Stewart used to say, that’s a very good thing.

BANISH rolled out the updated BANISH 30-V2 last year, just in time for onset of canmageddon. There’s never been a better time to be in the silencer suppressor business, especially if you’re making one that’s light, quiet, and works well in a range of roles on a variety of guns.

And the BANISH 30-V2 is exactly that. It’s a modular design that’s rated for use on everything from .17 HMR to .300 Weatherby. It has a titanium baffle stack inside a titanium tube that makes it light weight and completely user serviceable.

Those titanium baffles can be removed and cleaned, serviced or replaced. They’re designed to line up in a specific configuration using a series of lugs that ensure the right alignment.

The baffles can also be re-stacked in any order. That’s a plus because the rear “blast baffle” closest to the muzzle end of the rifle takes most of the wear and tear from hot gasses and debris. When that happens, you can re-order them and move one of the other baffles to the rear. There’s also a non-locking front baffle that’s positioned at the top of the stack.

The BANISH 30-V2 did a great job even on a short-barrel .308 shooting both subs and full-power ammo.

Being modular, you can shoot it in either the shorter or longer configuration, depending your gun and your needs. That’s either (just under) 8.2 inches full-length, or 6.4 inches in short mode. General rule of thumb: the shorter the barrel, the longer the can you’ll want. A suppressor has to work a lot harder to muffle the blast from a shorter barrel than it does from a longer one.

You can definitely run the BANISH 30-V2 in short mode mode on a 24-inch 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. But from the bench, where weight and length aren’t an issue, why not make things a little quieter and softer-shooting?

We shot the BANISH 30-V2 on a mix of guns in both short and long configurations. The 30-V2 has a HUB mount and ships with a 5/8×24 direct thread mount. That’s standard for .30 caliber cans. But being HUB compatible, you can choose from dozens of adapters like ½x28 for an AR, an ASR mount, KeyMo QD…you name it.

We really liked the BANISH 30-V2’s performance, especially in its full-length configuration. In addition to good noise reduction, it produces a deeper tone which is easier on the ears than higher tones, even as the same decibel level.

The BANISH 30-V2 is a great d0-all can that adapts and performs well in a variety of roles. Full-length on an SBR or AR, shorty mode on a 20-inch-plus .308 or 6.5 Creedmoor for hunting or long-range…or dozens of combinations in between. This can does what most of us need a good can to do in most of the situations we need one to do it.
