There was a time, back in the olden days, when red dot sights had to be started manually. It didn’t take long for motion-activated models to become common. It appears Walker’s has taken that idea another step. They just launched the Walker’s Razor XTR-M with MAHP (Motion Activated Hearing Protection). Shake-awake ear pro? Yes, please.
We’ve all forgotten to shut down our ear pro and burned the batteries. You usually discover that the next time you go to the range.
The Walker’s Razor X-TRM Digital Muffs are going to shake things up. The MAHP system serves as a shake-awake mechanism that immediately turns the active noise protection on when micro-movements are detected. That means no manual power-up delays (I’ve been there, turning my ears on) and longer battery life, too.
Here’s a quick rundown from Walker’s on the ways this system works to save your hearing:
Active Dynamic Sound Suppression automatically compresses sound based on impulse intensity for consistent, reliable protection. At the same time, wind-noise reduction algorithms stabilize audio in open and windy conditions, keeping distractions to a minimum. Advanced digital signal processing provides clear, natural audio with no latency drift, while dual hi-gain omnidirectional microphones preserve directional awareness and critical range commands.
The new ear pro is designed to be low-profile and close-fitting (I can’t be the only one who’s ever whacked my ear pro out of place on a tree or barrier). Gel ear pads provide a comfortable, secure fit and breathable mesh helps cut back on sweat.

Walker’s Razor X-TRM with MAHP are pretty cool and will definitely make range and training time a bit simpler for a lot of people.
