B5 Systems’ New Line of Compact AR Furniture

B5 Systems just dropped a few new AR furniture items to make your PDW builds even more compact. The P-GRIP 22K, the Sierra K Receiver Extension Kit, and the Sierra K Buttstock. I’m a fan of compact buffers and buttstock and chopped grips on my N23 and 608 retro builds and it’s nice to see some modern factory options available now too.

The P-GRIP 22K

First up is the P-GRIP 22K. This is basically a shorter version of B5’s P-GRIP 22. It has a 13° angle and aggressive texture for better grip and retention. At 3.5 inches tall, it’s almost three quarters of an inch shorter than the full sized grip and designed for use on PDW’s. The 22K is made from the same mil spec materials as B5’s other grips and only weighs 2 ounces. You can get it in Black, FDE, Coyote Brown, OD Green, and Wolf Grey colors. MSRP is just $20.00,

The Sierra K Receiver Extension Kit

The Sierra K Receiver Extension Kit consists of a black anodized reduced-length, mil-spec diameter, 7075 aluminum, 5-position receiver extension made to accommodate the new Sierra K buttstock. It comes with a short heavy buffer (3.5 oz), an extra power recoil spring, a castle nut, and a quick disconnect end plate. All parts made to mil spec standards and are made in the USA, like all of B5’s products. MSRP on the kit is $135.00.

The Sierra K Buttstock

The last piece of kit to finish off your compact build is the Sierra K Buttstock. It has lines like a simplified B5 Bravo stock but is only 5.6 inches long, and weighs 6.6 ounces. The height is 3.8 inches so you’re shaving some size off there as well. The Sierra K stock uses and internal adjustment latch that’s a bit more streamlined than the Bravo too. Despite being smaller it still features both fixed and QD sling mounts, color matched hardware and a non slip butt plate. You can get it in the same colors as the 22K grip, which is a good thing. It would bug the crap out of my OCD if you couldn’t. Cost on the Sierra K Buttstock is $61.00.

It may not seem like a significant size difference looking at the numbers but based upon the build I did with my cut down retro stocks it does make a difference. It’;s like backpacking where shaving ounces here and there saves pounds in the long run. Trimming size off you grip, receiver extension and buttstock make for a more compact PDW without sacrificing functionality. Keep an eye out here on SNW. I’m sure I’ll end up doing a build around a set of these before too long.
